With plenty of splashes, paddling, and laughter, it’s perfect for both first-time rafters and seasoned pros. A must-do for all families who love outdoor adventures.
Toby Creek originates from high alpine glaciers atop the Purcell Mountains. It carves a turquoise path through mountain wilderness and steep canyons as it flows downstream to meet the Columbia River. The trip lasts approximately 2 hours.
- Minimum age is 8 years
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.
- Please bring a bathing suit, towel, and fleece sweaters on cold days.
- Do not bring jewelry, valuables, or cameras (unless waterproof).

Fun for all ages. - Teagan, our guide, was awesome. Friendly, funny and above all safe. She was on top of her game at all times while still offering details of the area. The entire staff was excellent.
This was more for novice or beginners but still fun and exciting. A good way to dip your toe 😁

What a great introduction to River Rafting! - Absolutely wunderbar!
Everything from getting prepped with a wet suit, helmet and shoes to practising paddling to what to do on the river was done with safety front of mind. With a splash of humor to go with every instruction.
Zach started off the safety training at Panorama. Eric was the guy who taught us a bit more about what to do and not to do while in a river raft, while we were transported from Panorama up the road to the starting point. Toby was our guide assigned to our raft of 6 adults. All three gentlemen used humor to get their messages to stick.
With humility and a touch of humor, Toby won our raft over. If we weren't asking him questions about the river, which restaurant was his favorite or where he was fun, then he was making us laugh with his stories and anecdotes about the river itself. The hour on the river just flew by.
While the majority of our party had river rafted before, to top it all off, we had a first timer (and non-swimmer to boot) on board, who was made to feel right at home and ultra safe the entire passage.

Tyler is the best! - We were on a girls trip first time rafting! Was a little nervous. But we had Tyler aka “Tyrone” and he made us feel safe and comfortable! He was hilarious and I highly recommend requesting him for your trip. We felt safe it was a lot of fun and you do get wet.

Great day of rafting! - We did the Toby Creek rafting today. Our guide, Toby, was terrific! We were a group of 6 and Toby took special care to ensure the very nervous 10 year old in our group was comfortable.
The rafting was not too difficult and the scenery was gorgeous. I wouldn’t hesitate to go again!

Absolutely amazing!! - The views were amazing!! It was so fun!! Tyler was the best guide!! Tyler’s stories and explanations were amazing!! The water was amazing!! The water wasn’t even too rough. I personally thought it was gonna be pretty rough but thankfully it wasn’t. Everything about the experience was amazing!!

Wonderful rafting experience. - Clara our guide was excellent! Toby Creek was fun and fast moving which made for a great experience for our kids that were along for their first experience. Highly recommend.

Experience of a lifetime! - Girls trip - so much fun!! A group of 50 something friends had a blast. Toby made us feel safe and confident to handle the “cheese greater” with ease. He was both entertaining and informative. A great experience for newbies. Toby is the newest honorary member of the Bunch of Coconuts!

Highly recommend for a safe and exciting activity. - Such a great first time experience for my reluctant teenage daughters. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable and kept us all safe. Would highly recommend for a safe experience that provides some excitement and adventure. Thank you to the staff for a great experience overall.

The absolute best time rafting Toby Creek! - We had an excellent time rafting Toby Creek with Kootenay River Rafters. The staff were fantastic and made sure everyone had a great time while also being safe. Our guide Rory was an absolute gem! He was knowledgeable about the area so shared some great info with us while we were out on the water. I’ve been out rafting a few times in different places in Canada and Rory and this group were the best! We will be back and will definitely bring the kids next time! Huge thanks to Rory and the crew for making our experience so memorable!
