A Journey Through Time and Faith

As I embarked on the journey to explore the spiritual and cultural gems of Cyprus, I was filled with anticipation. The allure of ancient monasteries and the promise of a deeper connection to the divine called to me. Our first destination was meant to be the Panayia Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery, a 12th-century sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin Mary. However, the road closure redirected our path, leading us instead to the renowned Kykkos Monastery. This unexpected detour felt like a gentle reminder that the journey itself is as significant as the destination.

Kykkos Monastery, with its golden mosaics and historic frescoes, stood as a testament to the island’s rich spiritual heritage. The icon of the Virgin Mary, believed to be painted by St. Luke, drew pilgrims and seekers alike, each hoping to catch a glimpse of the divine.
