At this point you will be inside the Panama Canal passing beside the ships in transit from one ocean to the other. During this boat tour in Gatun Lake you will be surrounded by the rainforest of the Soberania National Park, where we will spot monkeys and other wild animals.

Above and beyond - This tour was very informative and interesting. Our tour guide, Dan, was awesome and is very knowledgeable about Panama’s history. He gave us a lot of background information on the culture and people of Panama as well as present day happenings. The Panama Canal tour provides a documentary on the history of the building of the Canal and gives you a chance to see the mechanism of ships passing through the canal from a viewing gallery. The Gatun lake tour is a boat ride with an opportunity to see and feed a few species of monkeys. We were also able to view some birds. Maybe on other days there would be opportunity to see other wildlife. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this tour package thanks to Dan.

Outstanding tour!!!! - Amazing tour to learn about the Panama Canal and Gatun Lake. Ricardo our tour guide was magnificent , very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I would recommend this tour ,and will definitely book again in the future.

A must day trip!!!! - My husband and I had the best time on this tour! Fernando was an AMAZING guide! He was very passionate and explained to us many things about the area of Panama and the Panama canal. The Gatun Lake was beautiful! We saw crocodiles and many monkeys! They came close to the boat as well. One had a baby with her! Lunch was a delicious buffet and included many Panamain dishes. We ended the day with seeing an IMAX movie and seeing two ships go through the Panama Canal! I would definitely recommend this tour! It was a wonderful day!

Excellent experience for... - Excellent experience for watching ship pass by the canal. Got close look to the monkey and feed them. Alex is a wonderful guide, seems like he able to communicate with those monkeys !

Panama Canal and Gatun Lake boat tour - If you are in Panama for one weekday, this tour is the best.
We wanted to do the Panama Canal northbound or Southbound cruise but it is offered only on weekends.
We were able to go on a boat tour on Gatun Lake and were able to spot Sloth, Monkeys, Bats and Iguana.

Good Tour - So glad I did this tour. Having somebody who knows the canal, from the locks to the lakes, was helpful and informative. My tour was a total of three (including me). We went to Lake Gatun first for a boat ride and were fortunate to see a ship being towed into the Calubra cut. I was hoping to see more ships on the lake but this is obviously beyond the tours control. We then went to Miraflores locks. The IMAX film is good and we were fortunate to see a ship pass through the locks. It was crowded so if I were to go next time and a ship was coming, I would go stake a spot on the viewing platform first and early. It was crowded and I ended up being on the stairs. I still saw a lot and enjoyed it but my sight line was not ideal. I would appreciated staying at the Visitor Center a bit longer to see another ship. Demetria our guide was great.

Canal and Lake Gatun - Canal is a must do if you’re here but it’s slightly anticlimactic. Lake boat ride was refreshing and saw croc, toucan, 3 types of monkeys. Nice experience expensive but pretty much the norm. Fernando was a good driver and guide, nice to spend time with.
