• Miraflores Visitor Center - The Miraflores Visitor Center provides an intriguing glimpse into the renowned Panama Canal in operation. From the observation decks, visitors can witness the enormous ships navigating the locks, typically between 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. and again after 1:50 p.m. Inside, the IMAX Theater presents an engaging film narrated by Morgan Freeman, detailing the remarkable story of the canal’s construction and expansion. Please be aware that the visitor center is currently undergoing renovations, which may result in some queues and minor inconveniences, but the visit is truly worthwhile for the breathtaking views and the opportunity to see this engineering wonder up close.
• Amador Causeway (Calzada de Amador) - The Amador Causeway is a picturesque road built on the breakwater that once shielded the former Fort Grant, linking the mainland to four small islands. This area provides stunning views of the Panama Canal entrance and the city skyline. Along the route, sloths are often seen resting in the trees, a delightful sight for nature enthusiasts. A stop at the Biomuseo, a vibrant and iconic structure designed by Frank Gehry, allows for a brief walk outside to appreciate its distinctive architecture and ocean vistas. The tour concludes at the famous Panama sign, an ideal spot for capturing fun and memorable photos.
