Additional Information

Embark on a full-day tour tracing the final footsteps of Christopher Columbus in Huelva, right before he set sail on his historic journey to discover a new route to the Indies, which led to his unintentional discovery of the New World, drastically upending life as it was known in Old Europe.

Our journey guides us through the Muelle de las Carabelas where we admire the life-sized replicas of the three ships that embarked on Columbus’s inaugural voyage. The highlight of the tour is the Muelle de las Carabelas Museum with its many attractions: an interpretation center, a reimagined medieval quarter surrounding the dock and the Island of Encounters, envisioned to reflect the native culture of Guanahani, the first island where Columbus made landfall on October 12, 1492, which he renamed San Salvador.

Next, we head to the Monastery of Santa María de la Rábida, where Columbus resided and planned his trailblazing expedition.

Best part of our Southern Spain trip - We were surprised that we had a private tour, just us and our guide Salvador. He was amazing. He knew so much about the area and Christopher Columbus. Our tour was November 1 so some things like museums were closed but Salvador added other stops to make up for it. He was so polite and truly wanted us to have an amazing adventure. Our best day in Spain (and the rest set the bar high).
