Discovering Palma’s Hidden Gems
As the early summer sun begins to warm the cobblestone streets of Palma, families can embark on a journey through the city’s vibrant culture and scenic beauty. Start your day with a Tramuntana Mountain Tour, a full-day adventure that takes you through the picturesque towns of Valldemossa and Soller. This tour, available from 9:10 AM to 5:10 PM, offers a perfect blend of history, architecture, and breathtaking landscapes. As you traverse the winding roads of the Tramuntana mountains, your expert guide will share fascinating insights into the region’s rich history and culture.
The tour includes a scenic tram ride between Soller and Puerto de Soller, providing a unique perspective of the island’s natural beauty. With leisure time in each location, families can explore at their own pace, capturing memories against the backdrop of Mallorca’s most photographed villages. One recent review from October 2024 highlights the exceptional value and superb scenery, noting the knowledgeable guide and skillful driver who made the experience unforgettable.
Reviewed on 2024-10-10: A great day out… - From start to finish we had a great day out with our wonderful guide Catalinà and driver Huraldo, Catalinà is a very knowledgeable guide who has a wonderful sense of humour. The trip took us into the mountains along a road with switchbacks through picturesque scenery, all perfectly navigated by our driver Huraldo. We arrived in Valdemossa where we had free time to have lunch and admire the beautiful scenery, or visit the various attractions. We then travelled onto Soller where we enjoyed a coffee in the beautiful square in front of the cathedral before taking the train down to Puerto Soller, where we had more free time to enjoy the scenery before rejoining our coach for the journey back to our hotels. Extremely good value for money, superb scenery and probably the best guide and driver we could have hoped for. I would definitely do this tour again if we come back to Alcudia. Well done no frills and thanks for a great day.
Thrilling Drives and Scenic Views
For those seeking a bit more adrenaline, the Convertible Island Drive offers an exhilarating way to explore Mallorca. Available from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, this tour lets you experience the thrill of driving a turbo sports car through the island’s stunning landscapes. Starting in Santa Ponsa, you’ll navigate through charming towns like Magaluf and Palmanova, with stops at iconic locations such as Puerto Portals and the Serra de Tramuntana.
This tour is perfect for families with older kids or teens who can join as passengers, offering a unique way to bond over shared experiences. The drive through the mountains, with its breathtaking views and winding roads, is a highlight for many. A review from May 2025 praises the tour for its excellent service and value, noting the courteous staff and the opportunity to explore the island from a fresh perspective.
Reviewed on 2025-05-06: Can’t think of a better… - Can’t think of a better way to see the island. The tour starts with an explanation of the car and you are given a couple of bottles of cold water and then the tour begins. The journey includes all types of roads from driving around towns to motorways and then driving around the mountains which was a highlight for me. The cars are easy and fun to drive and also very comfortable. We were the only ones on the tour that day so following the tour guide car was simple and if we ever did get stuck at a junction he would always slow down and let us catch up. You stop at a variety of locations and have a bit of time to explore before heading off to the next location. If you are a keen driver this is the best way to explore the island.
