Highlights
  • Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park - Begin your journey at Imjingak, a park situated on the Imjin River’s edge, where displays of military equipment and relics from the Korean War are present. Continue to the Freedom Bridge, which nearly 13,000 Korean prisoners of war traversed to reclaim their liberty. While walking, your guide will impart the poignant history and importance of this bridge.
  • The Third Tunnel - Return to the vehicle and make your way to the Third Infiltration Tunnel, found under the border between North and South Korea. Discover the intended purpose of these tunnels, which are suspected to have been designed by North Korea as a pathway for military invasion. Observe the South Korean defenses, including concrete blockades that seal off the actual Military Demarcation Line.
  • Dora Observatory - The tour will then take you to the Dora Observatory, where you can peer into North Korea using telescopes. Your guide will provide commentary on the way of life across the border as you view the hamlet of Kijongdong.
  • Dorasan Station - Continue to Dorasan Station, a site of historical and symbolic significance that represents the separation and potential for exchange between the northern and southern territories.
  • Insadong - Opt for the full-day excursion to enjoy a meal and then visit the Insadong Antique Market, historically the premier marketplace for antiques and art in Korea. Explore the assortment of stalls, admire handicrafts, and negotiate for the ideal memento with your guide’s assistance. Your excursion concludes at this location.
