Tarsar Marsar is one of India’s most overlooked treks. It is less challenging than the Kashmir Great Lakes trek, yet possibly even more stunning. A major highlight of this trek is the opportunity to visit three expansive alpine lakes and camp on the grassy banks of two of them. Throughout the journey, trekkers traverse lush, green meadows adorned with wildflowers.
The Kashmir valley offers an experience that can leave even the most skilled writers at a loss for words, yet it never fails to inspire endless poetry in the hearts of its admirers. Beyond Kashmir’s inherent classical romanticism, there are unique aspects of trekking that the Tarsar Marsar twin lakes trek encapsulates perfectly.
The trek features velvety grasslands, paths through beautiful and fragrant pine trees, charming thatched-roof villages inhabited by wonderful people, the serene stillness of azure waters, and camping by the glacial lakes that lend the trek its name.
