- Pilpintuwasi - The tour will navigate the Nanay River to reach the shores of the Padre Cocha community. A short distance further is the Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm, a wildlife rescue center established in 2004. It is Peru’s only butterfly breeding center and is home to a variety of rescued animals, including monkeys and other species. This beautiful sanctuary showcases a diverse array of butterflies in various sizes and colors, fluttering freely within a specially designed greenhouse. “Pilpintuwasi” translates to “butterfly house” in Quechua.
- Comunidad kukama los TAYRAS DE PADRE COCHA - The tour continues with a boat ride to the Morón River, where visitors will explore the Kukama Kukamiria community. This indigenous community settled in the area nearly 200 years before the Spanish conquest and primarily relies on fishing and agriculture.
- Comunidad Bora - The tour will also visit the native Bora tribe, where guests will meet indigenous families who maintain their traditions. Their homes are built in an octagonal shape, reflecting their ancestral beliefs. Visitors will see their handcrafted artworks, participate in traditional dances, and visit local farms.
- Serpentario Nanay - The journey continues with a visit to the “Serpentario” Rescue Center, a natural sanctuary where guests will encounter some of the most fascinating and feared snakes of the Amazon jungle. They will learn about the snakes’ behavior, ecological importance, and discover other exotic species. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to taste traditional aphrodisiac cocktails from the region, such as “Siete Raíces” and “Rompe Calzón,” among others.
- Insectario Macrodonte - The tour will then explore the Insectarium, a unique exhibit featuring insects like spiders, ants, beetles, scorpions, and more.
- Barranquito Restaurante Flotante - To conclude the tour, guests will enjoy a traditional lunch at a restaurant with stunning views of the Peruvian jungle (drinks not included).
