Lake district double. - A great day out with personable and informative tour guide Graham. Gorgeous scenery and plenty of photo opportunities etc. Also did the six lake spectacular a day later with Peter who kept up the high standards. Do yourself a favour and don't hesitate to book these tours - good value and the right balance. Perfect weather was doubtless a contributing factor 😃

Dream Day Trip from London to the Lake District and Back - This was a perfect day trip from London to the Lake District and back. It could not have been better. Really. First class tickets from London's Euston station made for an enjoyable stress-free ride north to Oxenholme. A hot breakfast sandwich and tea was served at my seat as the train whizzed through the English countryside. Expert driver/guide Mark Shipley was at the Oxenholme station to greet our small group upon arrival. From there it was nonstop fun: a visit to Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm, a guided ramble about the quaint village of Hawkshead, a cruise on Lake Windermere, a quick walk to Tarn Hows, a beautiful drive through the Langdale Valley, and a delicious cream tea at lovely Lindeth Howe, now a small hotel, but once a home owned by Beatrix Potter. Mark had us back to the station in plenty of time for a relaxing return trip to London. The entire day was a dream come true. Mark was an excellent guide and made it so. Highly recommend this Golden Tours London/Mountain Goat Tours day trip for those with limited time but a keen desire to experience the Lake District.

living the potter's life of fulfilment!..plush green valleys with white sheep! - one of the most gorgeous torus you can take in lake districts. Our driver and guide was was phenomenal with a great sense of humour. she kept us so engaged that we could almost visualise the times when Mrs Beatrix Potter walked amongst these mystic hills of the Lake District. her copilot Gilbert was the most handsome looking fella ;) the Boat ride was to of the charts ...and our guide escorted us till the gates ...which was so thoughtful of her.We were picked up from our hotel's doorway with a smile and we were dropped at a different place upon request. which was fab as it saved us time extra tickets. the Bus was comfortable and the stops were good enough for pics and cup o coffee...I am defo coming back and going for a bigger tour may be over night ones.

Not quite what we expected, but still quite good - It was a windy, cloudy day with few peeks sunshine in mid-November. Not the best time to enjoy the cruise on Lake Windemere, but still picturesque. Tea and scones at the lakeside hotel afterwards, seated by the fire, was both cozy and tasty. Driving in a small van around the area was amazing. Beautiful vistas, roads only nominally built for 2-way traffic, snow the mountain tops, slate walls ages old around every field, especially the ones with the Herdwick sheep that change color as they age. Then the unexpected part: the visit to an amazing Peter Rabbit/Beatrix Potter museum of life-sized and, in some cases, larger, creatures from Potter's books in moving dioramas with touch-screen stands asking children to identify various items in each display area. This last bit would have been perfect for 8-10 year olds familiar with Potter's tales.

Wonderful introductory tour for first time visitor - My long time wish to visit the Lake District, and what a wonderful way to start with Mountain Goat. Not sure if this is the same tour I signed up for, but it was a half day tour which covered a wide area. Kevin, our driver was so experienced, shared his love and knowledge of the area. The little stories he'd tell were so interesting. He takes pride in his job, to make his ride not only enjoyable and informative, but safe and comfortable. I imagine many of the other members of Mountain Goat are like Kevin, and would definitely try another of your tours.
