A wonderful experience for any animal lover. - After a couple of days in the local area, we popped into Jukani and joined a guided tour for a look around this wonderful wildlife sanctuary. Our guide Elvis was fabulous. He took us around, enclosure by enclosure helping us to locate and observe each animal, telling us all about them. It was incredibly interesting, and sometimes sad to know why the animals were there, but it's clear to see they are receiving the very best care in as natural environment as it's possible to keep them. We are huge animal lovers, esp big cats, and often visit zoos back in the UK as it's the only way to see these wonderful animals. However, Jukani doesn't feel like a zoo. We particularly enjoyed watching the honey badger, not an animal we'd ever seen before and quite a character! Elvis is very passionate about the animals, and the respect he has for them is clear to see. It was a wonderful experience, and we would love to go back, and to visit the sister parks someday. Also, the gift shop was fabulous. We bought t-shirts and all our holiday gifts there, lovely selection. Thanks, keep doing what you're doing!

Late afternoon visit is highly recommended - It was a very special experience getting to see these magnificent cats up close. The staff was very welcoming and our guide was knowledgeable and interesting. We were advised to visit in the late afternoon and this proved to be the right move - we arrived at 3pm just before feeding time, so the cats were all close to the fences waiting for their meal. We were very lucky to see them all awake and active.

Wonderful visit to see big cats - We had such a fantastic tour yesterday with tour guide Riko, who was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. You can see all of the big cats up close and we learned so much! We took our two children aged 6 and 3, both of whom stayed engaged for the whole 90 minutes. We also ate in the cafe, which had a delicious selection of cakes and light bites plus a very small and basic play area that kept the kids entertained. Thoroughly recommend Jukani as a fantastic half day activity.

Interesting and happy for these types of animals - Happy to see this project running. A lot of these animals will not survive in the wild as they are rescued and have been through a lot. They come from places where they have been humanised, domesticated, and physically abused - therefore some are permanently damged, so the sanctuary do provide what I thought was the best environment they could with the money and support they receive/d (far better than many zoo's I have sadly seen). Our tour guide Basil was very informative and knowledgeable and showed great compassion for the animals as well as his gratitude on our feelings too toward what they do for the animals. The animals showed playfulness, and some animals hide and sleep as they do and some do not bother to roam that far when well looked after. We saw almost all of them, though. This is not a zoo nor a place to showcase animals, it is a place where they are treated and taken in so they can die peacefully rather than throwing them into the wild, unadapted and unexperienced or physically impaired.

Fantastic Tour - especially if you are a photographer! - Great tour with opportunity to photograph some beautiful wild cats. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we highly recommend the experience. If you are a photographer you will be in your element, you just need manual focus to get round the fence...

Close Up views of the big Cats - We have not visited Jukani since they moved from near Mossel Bay many years ago. This sanctuary is a lot better than the previous one , more natural & more shade for the cats. The viewing decks are also a nice addition for pics without fences obscuring ones vision. Bazil was our guide & shared his knowledge with us as well as the tough times they have gone through during these pandemic times , fortunately more visitors are arriving in recent times. These guys are doing such great work to look after these poor cats that were abused /abandoned/injured in the past. There is a restaurant on site as well as a little curio shop . The sign is clearly visible off the N2 highway near to Plettenberg Bay . Taking the 3 combo ticket is definately worth it as you can visit Monkeyland & Birds of Eden on different days. They are all within a 10km radius of each other The 2 jaguars were definately the highlight of our visit on 22 Feb 2022

Amazing Cats - Totally amazing! We had a fantastic guide to show us around the big cat rescue centre & he was so knowledgable. It’s a wonderful place being run by people who are doing their best to rescue & take care of big cats. You can see the cats very close up & some have very sad stories but are now living in luxury. Definitely a place I would visit again & cant recommend it enough.

A good filler activity - It was good experience, but only as a filler activity. If you have spare time, you can surely visit this sanctuary. Our guide X was very patient and informative. Do not plan this as your main activity as there would not me much to it.

Great day out, at the right time of day - The facilities are well maintained and a fantastic excursion provided you time your visit accordingly. Unfortunately we made a late morning visit when the heat picked up a bit and naturally the animals tend to take cover in the huts and shade out of site. Sadly we paid admin for 4 only to see the Jaguars and Tiger then be out within the hour.
