Once there, you will realize that what you experience as a typical life experience is actually a theatrical spectacle for tourists. As a rule, the father shows you around his house and prepares a mint tea.

DAY TRIP TO OURIKA VALLEY AND ATLAS MOUNATINS :
If you’re an enthusiast of the great outdoors, you’ll find the cascades particularly mesmerizing. It’s common for visitors to indulge in a swim in the stream, although the chill of the water might take you by surprise. The initial waterfall is readily reached; however, a bit of an expedition is required to witness the subsequent ones. To reach some falls, be prepared for a bit of an ascent, thus sturdy footwear is recommended.
In essence, the tour is meant to immerse you in the conventional Berber lifestyle prevalent in hillside hamlets. Upon visiting, it may become apparent to you that this so-called authentic experience feels more like a staged performance for visitors. Typically, the head of the household will act as your guide through his dwelling and will serve you mint tea.
The most frequented local bazaars on a weekly basis are in Ourika on Mondays and Aghbalou on Thursdays. Should you approach the valley via the highlands, you’ll have the opportunity to explore other delightful bazaars in Tahanaout on Tuesdays and Asni on Saturdays.

Worth the walk, but no swimming - Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable about the local area. Its a trek but manageable in trainers and shorts, but due to the lack of rain, no swimming at the end. The water level was too low. If you can go for an 8.30am pick up as you miss the crowds and get to enjoy the mountains solo and before the sun comes into view. Well worth the money. Highly recommended
