Refreshing walk, great views, come prepared! - We were picked up without hassle and boarded a tour bus with about 12 people at 9.30am in Marrakech. The trip to the Ourika valley was broken up by a couple of slightly unexpected stops, one with the opportunity to ride camels with a panoramic view, and another to visit an argan oil cooperative. Arrived at Ourika village around 1pm, and immediately started climbing the path to the waterfalls. This path is not at all suitable for older people, people with inappropriate footwear or anybody who is afraid of heights or of uncertain footing. Stunning views down the valley, but very touristy the whole way up, with mini-souks and orange juice/mint tea vendors lining the pathway and at every viewpoint. The waterfalls are spectacular, and the walk is interesting and refreshing, but plan to be relatively healthy and bring good footwear (even trainers) as there is no turning back! Food, drink and W.C. breaks can be an issue on these trips - especially for women. Bring water, a snack, and ask regularly about bathrooms as the guides are rarely proactive in asking if anybody needs anything. We didn't stop for lunch until 3.30pm and by that time we were starving. Food was excellent and well-priced, sitting by the river was refreshing. Bring cash and make sure you know clearly whether lunch is included with your ticket! Our guide Bahadi was nice, spoke multiple languages (Arabic, English, French, Spanish) and kept us together well enough. Our hiking guide was exceptionally patient with folk struggling on the walk. Overall, would recommend, but come prepared and be bold if you need anything from the guides.

Marrakesh to Atlas Mountains - Nice trip to Atlas mountains. Friendly tour guide Pahadi. Lunch by the river and hike up to the waterfalls. Hike requires a good level of fitness.
