Day 1: Marrakech-Ait Ben Haddou-Quarzazate-Draa Valley-Zagora Desert

Marrakech - Departure from Marrakech at 8:00 AM, in a 4x4 all-terrain vehicle heading towards the High Atlas mountains, we will make our way to the renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this adobe fortress has been the backdrop for numerous films. We’ll continue to Quarzazate for lunch near the celebrated Kasbah of Taourirt, once the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech. Our journey will then take us further south, crossing the second pass, Tizi’n Tichka at 2660 meters above sea level, and the village of Ait Saou, which was once part of the caravan trade route from the Sahara to ‘Tomboukton’. We’ll reach the administrative center known as ‘Agdez’, marking the beginning of the Draa Valley. Our day will conclude with a camel ride that will take us to the Pre-Sahara, leading to a Haima camp in the Zagora Desert, known as the gateway to the desert. Dinner and overnight stay in a Haima (tent, Berber tent) will be accompanied by the sounds of the Tam-Tam.

Day 2: Zagora-Agdez-High Atlas Mountains-Quarzazate-Return to Marrakech

Zagora - Early in the morning, one can witness the magnificent sight of the sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast at the Zagora camp, we’ll ride the camels back to the 4x4. Our return to Marrakech will take us through Quarzazate. We’ll have lunch and traverse the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Draa Valley with a panoramic stop, arriving back in Marrakech around 6:00 PM.
