We’ll ascend through the scenic Idro valley on a comfortable dirt trail and will visit the St. Angelo Crypt, a sublime structure etched into the pliant rocks of Salento during the Byzantine era.

We’ll then progress towards Casamassella, pausing at the Costantine Foundation, a hub dedicated to organic agriculture and the preservation of weaving techniques using ancient looms.

Next, we head to Giurdignano, a key megalithic hotspot of Salento that houses numerous dolmens and menhirs, the earliest signs of human activity in the area.

Appease your hunger with a lip-smacking lunch organized by us at a traditional stone oven bakery. Post-lunch, we’ll bike to Porto Badisco for a leisurely pause, and if the weather is favourable, a dip in the water, you may also rent canoes if interested.

Later, we’ll proceed along the stunning coastal route to Otranto. We will halt at Punta Palascìa lighthouse, the easternmost tip of Italy, and an intriguing lake located in an abandoned bauxite quarry.
Return to Otranto as the evening approaches.

We’ll traverse along the back roads and a charming unpaved path to explore one of Salento’s most captivating and representative regions: the vicinity of Otranto.
As we traverse the Idro Valley, we will encounter its Byzantine crypt, dedicated to Saint Angel, and arrive at the establishment “Le Costantine”, a hub for organic farming and traditional loom weaving. We’ll journey towards Giurdignano’s megalithic garden, to marvel at its ancient dolmen and menhir, followed by a visit to a petite lake nestled in an abandoned bauxite quarry.
Our trip includes a stop at a bakery featuring a stone oven where we’ll enjoy a scrumptious meal with local delicacies, as well as a visit to Porto Badisco for a refreshing iced almond milk coffee and a delightful swimming experience.
