Osaka Castle played a crucial role in the unification of Japan during the 16th and 17th centuries. The Battle of Osaka, which took place in 1614-1615, was a pivotal event where the Toyotomi clan fell, and the Tokugawa clan firmly solidified their reign as the Shoguns of Japan. Many historical artifacts can be viewed in the surrounding park area. Adjacent to this, the Osaka Museum of History can be found, offering in-depth knowledge about the history of Osaka from its formative years up to the present day. In close proximity lies the remnants of the Palace of Naniwa, a historical site dating back to the 7th century.
