It’s more than just tea - Such a wonderful experience with Ko. This combined both the traditional tea making experience, as well as a history and culinary lesson. Not to mention mixology! Plus, it’s hands on! You may find yourself searching for loose leaf tea and tea making sets.

Fun and interesting - It was very interesting and fun: First, Ko explained a lot about the history of tea, then we got hands on experience, showing also some intricate details of tea making (not only timing etc., but also how to hold a tea pot correctly, and why) in a kind way. In the end, we got some really neat tea cocktail including recipe!

Best activity I tried in my 18 day visit to Japan - It is difficult to explain how amazing this experience was. Ko was an incredible teacher and very kind. His passion was infectious and heartwarming. My partner and I were enthralled as he led us through the process of properly making tea and his philosophy around the ceremony. If you are a fan of real tea, or have an interest in community building, this is the place for you. My partner and I were up all night thinking about it. One thing in particular he said stuck out to me, "The act of drinking tea is a beautiful rebellion." Simply the act of sitting down and preparing a lovely cup of tea for yourself and allowing yourself to relax and slow down flies in the face of the fast paced lifestyle everyone wants you to participate in. What a lovely sentiment from an amazing experience.

A great discovery - I had a great 2 hours, learning and tasting the different types of Japanese tea and how to prepare them. Then we prepared a drink from the menu together, it was delicious, as delicious as a dessert. At the end I was able to choose a cocktail based on my favorite tea that he prepared for me: it was very good. It was a great experience, adjustable and flexible according to your taste and preference, without forgetting the little samples of tea offered at the end to share all this with our loved ones when we return! I highly recommend. Little extra: the activity takes place in a charming little area of Tokyo, quiet and very different from the usually very touristy areas, with a few second-hand clothes shops nearby. THANKS !

Ko is AWESOME! You must go! - If you're ever around Tokyo, this is a MUST. Ko was absolutely incredible!! He spoke great English and was super fun to hang out with. We didn't know that much about tea before going, but it was very interesting and we learned a lot! It's an intimate experience with just your group and Ko, so we were able to ask a lot of questions. It's very hands on and you get to try so many types of tea. We also were able to take some samples home as well! We ended up staying for over 3 hours just chatting with him. Ko was so welcoming and accommodating (one of our group members wasn't feeling well because of the jetlag and was able to lie down upstairs for a bit). He also gave us great recommendations for other areas and shops to explore. There's a town that's about a 10 min walk away from People's Tea that we went to eat dinner at after. It was such a great experience that we're planning on staying in touch with Ko. I also never usually write reviews, so that just goes to show how great this was!

A must do! - This experience with Ko was a huge highlight on our Japan trip. Ko knew so much about Japanese tea and shared his knowledge with us in a really nice relaxed and natural way. It didn’t feel like a course - more like a friend showing and sharing his passion for Japanese tea - the traditional way and new unexpected ways to create delicious drinks using tea. Had so much fun. Five stars! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Japan!

Highlight of our trip! - This tea blending workshop was the highlight of our trip to Tokyo. Ko is an amazing teacher and equally great person who is passionate about his craft. His knowledge and diligence in sourcing high quality teas was apparent from the taste, technique, and one-of-a-kind blends. He makes unique and delicious versions of classic teas and tea cocktails, including my new all time favorite drink, the mango matcha macchiato. I wish we had discovered People’s Tea before our last day, as I would like to have tried nearly everything on the menu. We even stayed after to spend more time talking with Ko and try additional drinks, as the menu is truly too good to resist. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo and think your experience would be incomplete without visiting People’s Tea.
