Beyond Amazing - This is an amazing workshop! Jo was beyond knowledgeable and happy to share what he knows. The class was interactive but also very educational. This class is great for those who want to learn the basics. Jo has already started some of the Kintsugi process as each steps take days to cure.

Amazing learning experience! - My friends and I had a wonderful time discussing and practicing kintsugi with Josuke! We learned so much about the history and practice of kintsugi, and we can't wait to receive the pieces we worked on by mail. Thanks for being so warm and sharing your insights and work with us, Jo!

Fantastic experience with a relaxed atmosphere - This was such a fun experience for me and my friend. We found the place ok as Jo was waiting outside and then had a great time learning about all the different ways that kintsugi can be done along with the pros and cons of each way. Jo helped us with the final step of the process on our pieces (you can't do the whole thing as the prep work takes almost a month) and made sure he could get them to us at our hotel later in our trip. He showed us several pieces he is/has worked on. He also helped us make matcha and enjoyed a nice cup of tea chatting with us and gave us recommendations for restaurants nearby that met dietary restrictions. We had so much fun and learned a lot plus got an excellent dinner at his recommendation.

Wonderful workshop - This workshop was one of the highlights of our trip. We had a wonderful time learning from Josuke about the history and art of kintsugi and seeing all of the different steps (like the types of lacquer). It put in perspective the amount of hard work and time that go into making kintsugi, which gave us a better appreciation of the art form. We were each able to take home a piece of porcelain as a lasting memory as well.

Art of Kintsugi and tea in a lovely gallery/workshop space - Jo was a wonderful host and teacher. I loved not just the class but how he taught us to make the matcha(green tea ceremony-like way). His space is beautiful and special, too.

A class for an artist - This was a good experience. You learned the history of kintsugi and from a true artist of the art form. His English was excellent! I thought the class was a bit pricey for what you received, but I also understand the price of materials are pricey for this type of art form as well (REAL 24k gold powder!) Don’t do this class if you don’t want to pay for shipping of your dishes after the cure period required for this work. This class would only be recommended to somebody who is seriously thinking about taking this art form up as a hobby. Not for the average tourist. Not for kids.
