Osaka Kendo fun - My son and I really enjoyed our Kendo Experience with Yamazaki in Osaka. We went through drills for footwork and striking with lots of humour and fun games all in English. One thing to double-check is the address. We went to an address (the wrong one, it turns out) where a lovely man recognised our confusion and escorted us to the community hall where it was held. All good! We’d definitely do it again!

Super mecha fun! - Big fun! My son claims it as the highlight of his Japanese holiday. The instructors were patient and super kind. The one-on-one sparring was exhilarating. Such a great experience not to be missed.

History, Culture and a Workout! - We enjoyed learning about Kendo and how it was integrates with Japanese history and culture. We found our experience to be very enriching and enjoyable. Hiroki, our instructor, provided very good instructions and history of Kendo. We learned etiquette as well as some of the core moves. The best part was definitely the sparring!

Finally had my kendo experience! - Great Kendo experience. I have always wanted to try it since I was young and now finally got a chance over a vacation to Osaka. Coach Yamasaki was great and fun. Luckily my wife and I were the only two students in the class so it feels just like a private lesson! He is taught us the basic 3 attack moves in the first hour or so and we ended up dueling each other at the end of the class. Had a lot of fun!

Fun family friendly kendo - The kendo experience was amazing. Our whole family does Martial Arts and we had a very fun time learning the Kendo basics, dressing in the kendo gii and fighting each other. Our littlest 9yo was a little scared at first but the Kendo master was inviting and friendly and the whole family had a very good time.

Incredible Experience - This was such an incredible experience. Our class was a group of 4, so it was nice and small. Our teacher was amazing and was really incredible at both the sport and teaching. This was an experience that was worth every penny.

Kendo instructor was the best! - Amazing experience! The instructor was kind and informative. We learned techniques, etiquette and some light sparring in a fun atmosphere. Highly recommended this experience.

Birthday Kendo Experience - The experience was very fun. Our instructor was very patient with us as beginners and a very supportive, encouraging, and enthusiastic teacher! And in one on one sparring with the instructor, he was very fast. You have to stay focused if you're gonna score a point! 10/10 Would absolutely recommend!

Great for people looking for an active experience off the beaten path - Our sensei for the day, Yama-san, was fantastic; a kendo champion practicing for 36 years. He was very lively and did a great job of taking us through basic kendo exercises and forms. A little outside of the tourist parts of Osaka but well worth the trip for anyone looking for a hands on experience (who want to try a bit of sword fighting), and it's very accessible from the Osaka loop line.

Great Experience - This was a blast! My son and I learned some of the basics of Kendo, practiced, then geared up and were able to spar against each other.
