Fantastic night adventure in Drake. - We had an incredible time with Tracie and Gian on our night tour seeing bugs and so much more. We’d chosen to visit Corcovado from Drake Bay primarily to go on the night tour with Drake Bay’s Bug Lady and her partner Gian. This really was one of the highlights of our trip and so exciting for the whole family. Tracie and Gian are true scientists and not only found us lots of amazing animals, plants and fungus but could share so much fascinating information about each. They make a good team- when one is telling you loads of cool stuff, the other is already lining up the next exciting find. Not a dull moment at all. We saw kinkajou, scorpions, venomous spiders, huge bats, green eye free frogs and countless invertebrates. Plus so much more. After the tour we received a personalised species list with useful info and links to find out more. They even helped us days after our tour helping us identify other creatures we met on our travels. Very easy to book and great communication.

Fantastic tour ! Highly recommended - This tour is very interesting and Tracie and Gian are very knowledgeable on all the night life in the forest. We saw many different animals on the 2,5 hours on a beautiful trail close to Drake Bay. Amazing project(s) of the both of them.

Never Go Off the Trail - There are no tigers here like in Apocalypse Now, but plenty that can kill you. Tracy showed us two scorpions and a very poisonous spider. Gian showed us an opossum eating in the canopy with a night scope. All in all, lots of fun and very informative.

Do not hesitate. Go on this tour! - This tour will be one of the highlights of your visit to the Osa Peninsula. I was hesitant to walk in the jungle at night. Don't be! It is an enthralling experience, in large part due to Tracie's expertise, passion, and gentle presence. She and her husband, Gianfranco, deftly locate even the shyest creatures and share their prodigious knowledge of this secrete world. The glow of the scorpion, a snake so still it looks like a branch to an unsuspecting lizard, spiders as big as your hand, frogs, crabs, lizards, are a few of the hidden treasures. Wear insect repellent.

My high expectations were more than met! - After reading so many positive reviews I had high expectations for this tour and it certainly did not disappoint. We saw so many interesting insects, arachnids & amphibians, and also 8 different species of nocturnal mammals. Gianfranco and Tracie are a treasure trove of information on the flora & fauna of Costa Rica and I would like to thank them for their patience in helping me to capture photos on the evening. I’d 100% recommend this tour to others. Thanks guys!

The highlight of our trip to Costa Rica! - One of the main reasons we came to Costa Rica was for this tour. My 11-year-old son is a huge insect fan, and he wanted to see with his own eyes some of the cool insects he has learned about in documentaries and online. This tour was amazing, and it was the highlight of our whole trip. We saw so many cool animals, including bioluminescent click beetles, a trapdoor spider, whip scorpion, parasitoid wasp pupa, a sloth, my son's beloved leaf cutter ants and (dun dun DUN!) a velvet worm! Boy did we luck out. Velvet worms are rare. Tracie did an amazing job of remembering everyone's name on the tour and interacting with everyone in the group. Her passion shows through, and after the tour, her husband then creates and sends you a webpage with what you saw on your tour that includes links with lots of further reading and videos to watch to see the kinds animals we saw in action--such as a velvet worm excreting strings of gluey substance to catch prey. We can enjoy the trip and refer back to what we saw as often as we like.

Completely mind blowing! Don't be scared - nothing to fear! - Our tour with Tracie and Gian was absolutely incredible! I thought I had a reasonable knowledge of the world beneath my feet but they opened our eyes to so much - not least the millions of spiders laid out right before our eyes and visible with a £10 head torch! We (and particularly my wife) were in two minds about booking the tour, and a bit freaked when the time came around. We had visions of staggering about in the jungle stumbling into spiders webs and wiping cobwebs off our faces. in actual fact the tour did not stray far from civilisations, and was almost entirely on paved surfaces or well trodden footpaths. No fear necessary, but be prepared to wowed! The 'trap door' spider was a highlight, and a glimpse of a kinkajou.

Fantastic nocturnal experience with experts - We loved our tour with Tracie and John, whose passion and expertise make for an exciting and fascinating night tour. Nature will vary all the time but we were lucky enough to see Opossums, bats, spiders, a sloth and a host of other nocturnal creatures. The depth of knowledge was excellent and gave us insights into behaviors in a really engaging way

Book in advance--so worth it! - Absolutely the highlight of our trip (and it was a spectacular trip)--we were fascinated by Tracie's depth of knowledge and ability to seek out the smallest and most obscure wildlife including a trapdoor spider and a teeny scorpion. Her husband also contributed massively by finding a sloth, possum, and anteater. So worthwhile, but must book in advance because the tour always sells out.
