Great for small group, couples! - The 4 of us really enjoyed the hour or so at the Cantina and the aperitif and white and red wine tasting! The tour was very interesting, but a fair amount of stairs.

Interesting history, excellent food! - Touring the caves was a interesting bit of history. But the highlight was definitely the food. The restaurant was a lovely family owned restaurant, and it had a comfortable atmosphere. Orvieto is a lovely town, don't miss this one, worth the time.

Great Etruscan Caverns, Vino Lunch - Went back in history too 500BC Etruscan caverns underground. Amazing. I am 82 in good health and shape. If have knee problems reconsider. Wine tasting after at Cantina Foresi, excellent service by Alexandro. Presented the wines. Served Antipasto, lasagna Salad and dessert cookies. We went down below to ancient wine cellar. Highly recommend.

There was some confusion... - There was some confusion on where they wanted us to be. We really didn’t get our money’s worth and should have just booked our 8 euro tickets to the underground which was very good.

Interesting cave tour - The caves were very interesting and the guide quite knowledgeable. Getting the actual tickets and meeting point we’re quite confusing.
We went to the redemption and netting point and we’re sent elsewhere close by. That ticket office had my name but different time as I had rebooked for an hour earlier. (Two weeks prior). They then indicated my tour was cancelled but called the office to find the updated information. There was no mention of the aperitif and the guide was unaware as she was just for the cave tour.
In the end we saw what we wanted to see but it was stressful getting the actual tickets and frustrating with a lot of unorganized information.
The caves were quite a sight and truly fascinating.

Not as described - The tour was good but there were 2 issues. First. Getting the voucher was complicated and confusing. Second, the aperitif was not as advertised. Only one wine was offered, not pasta course, and no wine cave tour at all. There was a small charcuterie in the courtyard in front of the cathedral, but to find the location we had to ask an employee of another business.

Not a great experience at all - Didn’t rate this as a great experience, we had to go and collect our tickets for the underground caves which were €8 each, and it was a general group tour which we could have booked ourselves. The wine tasting was average and not a lot of explanation about the wines (a white and a red).

Teasing the tourist by 2 mini caves - Too much history for them to only open 2 caves that you can see in 5 minutes with a very long explanation to keep you standing in the same place. The truth is it's not worth it, it would be worth it if the place had a longer route or they didn't charge a fee. Just as it feels like teasing the tourist

Find an alternative - The underground tour was fascinating, however when we booked it was touted as a two hour tour; we spent maybe 40 minutes in the caves.
Lunch was blah, and expensive when you do the math on these tickets. A garden variety tossed salad (greens, tomato, shredded carrots) that looked like bag-o-salad. A decent antipasti platter. The white wine was nice.
The entree was lasagna. We’re in Italy folks, we know a good lasagna and this isn’t it! Over cooked, tasteless blob on your plate. Obviously reheated, maybe even nuked. The red wine was delicious.
Dessert, whatever. Some edible cookies/biscottis, nothing to write home about. Overly sweet dessert wine, not my favorite.
The owner was very nice, but the lunch and”wine tasting” was simply him trying to sell his bottles of wine. He was successful, loved his red wine.
In all, I’m disappointed in TripAdvisor for encouraging this tour. It was sub-par. You can buy an entry ticket for 7 euro and google some background information; our tour guide barely spoke English and didn’t impart anything of particular note, just generalities.

Unable to find tour - My husband and I waited at the directed spot from 11:45-12:30 (for the 12:15 tour) and never found the group tour. We waited outside and inside, trying to find the tour guide. We went inside the tour office to check if the ladies working at the tourist desk knew where our tour guide might be, but they told us to just take the 12:30 general tour (which was not what we paid for). I am disappointed that this was the outcome, since we paid so much for this tour and didn't get to experience it.
