Highlights
- Finca Queveri - The Tope tour consists of an experiential activity in Finca Agropecuaria Queveri. It consists of going to the paddocks of the farm, and herding the cattle (with the support of Queveri staff) all the way to the old dairy. While doing it, you can enjoy the views and learn about the importance of the place. If the weather let us do so, the tour is going be completed with a visit to the viewpoint, where you can see the volcanic mountain range of Costa Rica (Poás Volcano, Barva Volcano, Irazú Volcano, and Turrialba Volcano) and Tapanti National Park. At the viewpoint, you can visit the Piedras del Alto and mark them with your name to remember that you were there.
Finally, we will have lunch at La Fonda del Alto, a small restaurant ran by the owners, where Costa Rican food is served in 4 courses (entrée (soup/cream), fresh salad, main course, and dessert, -the latter is courtesy of the house); all of them are prepared with fresh local products.

Additional Information
The excursion includes a hands-on experience at Finca Agropecuaria Queveri. The journey involves moving to the farm’s paddocks and guiding the cattle to the historical dairy (aid from the Queveri staff will be provided). This activity provides an opportunity to appreciate the landscape and understand the significance of the location. If the weather permits, the itinerary concludes with a stop at the viewpoint. Here, Costa Rica’s volcanic mountain range (Poás Volcano, Barva Volcano, Irazú Volcano, and Turrialba Volcano) and Tapanti National Park can be seen. The viewpoint also offers a chance to visit the Piedras del Alto and leave a personal mark, serving as a souvenir of your visit.

You can find us on Google Maps or Waze as " Finca Agropecuaria Queveri". Please set the route from Cartago or from Orosi downtown, since the application could send you through alternative routes that would not work for you if set too late.
The last 4km are a dirty road. Always going up in the hill.

A FANTASTIC horseback ride in the mountains!!! - I just spent the afternoon at Queveri farm with my 86 year old mother! We rode the wonderful horses to the viewpoint. It was FANTASTIC!!! We absolutely loved this place, and my only regret is that I didn’t know how nice it was and that you can actually stay there in the gorgeous heritage farm lodge. The banana bread and fruit smoothies and kind company of the owners were “icing on the cake”. The horses themselves were mellow, easy to ride, and the lush “wraparound” vistas from the viewpoints were spectacular. We didn’t even care that it was lightly raining at first—the misty clouds made it even more beautiful. If you want a unique experience in a stunning place (and love the idea of horseback riding!) I really recommend this. Thank you to all of you at Queverí Farm :) !!!

Great experience - Really nice experience. Hosts were friendly and the food was exceptional. I would highly recommend this. Be prepared for a bumpy car ride up the mountain.

A highlight of our trip - Such a highlight of our trip. The owners were so kind and accommodating, the warmest hosts we had in Costa Rica. We took our three children (our youngest is 4) and they all got to ride the gentle and obedient horses. The views are stunning, the hosts accommodating, it was safe and beautiful. Couldn’t ask for more. Heads up - The road up to the farm is its own adventure! We were thankful for our four wheel drive. It’s right by the hot springs too, so afterward we soaked in the waters. A magical day.

Horseback riding experience - I have gone several times to do this horseback riding tour because it is always extraordinary and magical to walk through the mountains of the Orosi Valley, see the cattle. The horses are incredibly gentle and beautiful. And the guide Ramiro always makes us smile, as do the hosts of the place.

Highly recommend - My wife and I took the horseback riding tour and it was amazing! You go up to the top of the mountain. The views are incredible, the horses easy to ride and the guide very friendly.

Relaxing and peaceful - Finca Quéveri is a lovely farm in the Orosi Valley. The farmhouse has very comfy rooms and hot showers. The meals are fabulous and always accompanied with a fresh fruit juice. The owners and staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome.
Don’t forget to go for a horseback ride. It is a wonderful experience. I highly recommend a stay at Finca Quéveri for a relaxing get away.
