Wonderful morning on Icelandic horses - We had an amazing morning ride with Magnus on Icelandic horses. During the ride, we saw another rider demonstrating how the Icelandic horses dance. Such an amazing experience and I highly recommend.

Great Experience - This was an amazing experience and the owner was great! He helped our large group get on the horses quickly and was really hospitable. He even welcomed in afterwards for coffee and hung out with us until we had to get back to town. Highly recommend this to everyone.

Magnus is still the best - Magnus is the kindest man - he taught us to ride horses and then welcomed us into his home for coffee! Everyone should visit this here.

such an amazing experience, great horses and a great guide! - I just loved the experience with Magnus, such an easygoing guy, not speaking english but still fun conversations, using hands and google translate! He lives on the farm since he was born and was raised with the horses! I did not know anything about horses, and it was my first real horse ride, and Magnus told me to just get on the horse and we started riding together (it was just the two of us!!) Then he explained how to stop the horse (pull bak is „off“ let go is „on“👍👍) and that was it! Also how to lean back for downhill. The horse was just so calm and easy to ride! At the end of the tour, I rode alone and pretty fast over the grassland and lava fields! A dream come true! Thanks a lot Magnus, I totally enjoyed the landscape, the sea, the ride, the horses and your company! Absolutely amazing and highly recommendable!

Superb, unforgettable ride! - There is nothing luxurious or fancy here, just horses, horses, and horses! Magnus is a very friendly person and despite the fact that he does not speak English and we even less Icelandic, as a post says below, he does speak horses. And that is a universal language. We let our 13 year old daughter go for a walk with him for almost 2 hours in the surrounding area. She came back delighted, Magnus made her experiment with all the kinds of gaits that Icelandic horses move at. The lesson was at 6 p.m. paid in advance online there is no reception strictly speaking, you have to enter the stable if no one is outside. Our daughter is at galloping level 4 and this suited her completely because she was completely independent. Magnus and very kind, he knows his region and his horses perfectly and allows, during an outing, to really enjoy the region off the beaten track. It may not be everyone's dream, but we are far from riding on horseback on tired nags, here everything is authentic and true!

Fantastic time riding horses - We had a really great experience at Alhestar. We were picked up and dropped off in Reykjavik (even though I accidentally had booked the trip a day earlier than what I had intended). The people there were amazing and it was such a personable experience, not like many other places where you ride back to back with 20 other people. The landscape is beautiful and the horses were great! We were 2 people, one with prior experience and one beginner and it worked out well and we both really enjoyed it. Highly recommend! The people there alone really make it worth going.

Horseback ride through Iceland like no other - What a spectacular ride! Ali picked us up from our Airbnb in Reykjavik (for an extra fee, cheaper than taking a taxi for our group of 4) and brought us to their property where the horses were all ready for our two hour ride. They took us through fields and a black sand beach where we all experienced the 5 gaits of the Icelandic horse. The horses were easy to maneuver and ride and beautiful with easygoing personalities. When we came back we all had coffee, tea, juice, biscuits and he brought out a tub of candy to snack on before Ali drove us back to the city. Highly recommend to everyone! We had to pay cash onsite because the website didn’t work when we tried to book, but they were quick to respond to my emails and had everything prepared ahead of time.

Worst activity we had in Iceland - Worst experience in Iceland. The guide was 45’ late, he did not speak English and the tour was stopped half way. When we asked for partial reimbursement and pay for what we got, no answer. Just a tourist trap, indeed.
