Lift off!!! - Our most memorable experience on this tour to the Kennedy Soace Center and guided tour with Oscar was the surprised announcement that our tour will be seeing a space shuttle with supplies going to the moon today was a dream to be finally seeing this up close as well as sharing this with my husband of 47 years. Together as we sat waiting for the shuttle to rocket off the landing pad; I could see how he was excited and delighted, he was like a kid with a new toy in his collection. That was what was exciting to me…….plus the shuttle! I will say it required more than a day, which we purchase again not knowing about the take-off. Thus just give us more reason to go back again to complete the other half of the center. We can’t wait! Just AMAZING experience!!

Kennedy Space Center - Our day at Kennedy Space Center was amazing. Everything was well done and perfectly presented. The only thing we missed was the launch! It was a “no go!” So glad I went and learned a lot about the future of space missions. An amazing day. Definitely worth the $$$.

Needs some improvement in organization - The bus was nice, guides were nice but the company apparently mis counted and didn’t have room for all passengers being picked up so it was a bit chaotic and our family ended up getting the last seats on the bus and my family was separated causing my 10 year olds some anxiety and discomfort having to sit next to strangers. It was also a very long day, too long for us given that we were tired from getting in late the night before. It was convenient in that we had a relaxing drive to the space center. They just need to improve the experience regarding the pickup and handling of tickets. Also on the drive back we were last to be dropped off so it seemed like a really long drive. It would have been a nice gesture to offer bottles of water for the long drive.

My overall disappointing experience at The Kennedy Space Center - While entering the Kennedy Space Center with intense enthusiasm for the wonders of space travel and exploration, I was greatly disappointed to discover that the vast majority of exhibits are nothing more than replicas, often of vehicles and technology that has not even made it to space, yet. It seems that the only authentic exhibits were the SpaceX rocket and capsule. The electric signs for the KSC Spaceport attractions did not work, and we had to guess which line to stand in for the experience of our choice. The experience itself (we attended the "Uncharted Worlds" experience) left much to be desired. They kept the lights on during the entire experience, which completely destroyed any sense of immersiveness. The music was incredibly loud, so much so that we could not hear what the narrator was saying. The "Origin Blue" VR experience, to which we had to make reservations through the app (only to discover that the reservations are just for the queue, and that despite making the reservations we still had to wait in line) was very low quality - after the first 2 minutes of actual VR we only got to see video clips (that I could watch on any screen and with better quality). There is no door on the capsule, so the sounds and music of everything else in the background constantly intefered with the sound of the experience, not to mention the voice of the assistant of the ride, who was constantly chatting with people who were still in the queue. The documentary that played in the IMAX theater was definitely not one that requires IMAX technology. We actually dozed off half way through it. The Shuttle Atlantis experience wasn't satisfying, either. While the story of the building of the Atlantis is an interesting one, no one needs to walk from room to room just to watch more movies describing it. The interactive stations that followed were incredibly low quality. It reminded me of 1980's video games. The technology to make all of these experiences so much more immersive, appealing and even thrilling has existed for quite a while at this point in time, which leaves me wondering how the agency responsible for having put a man on the moon has yet to implement it.
