Dust, Thrills, and Hidden Beaches: My Aruba UTV Adventure
Trading my surfboard for a UTV, I embarked on an exhilarating journey through Aruba’s hidden beaches and iconic landmarks. Join me as I explore the island’s rugged terrain and discover its hidden gems.
Revving Up for Adventure
As a former professional surfer, I’ve always been drawn to the ocean’s call, but this time, I decided to trade my surfboard for a UTV and explore Aruba’s rugged terrain. The Aruba UTV Tour promised an exhilarating ride through the island’s hidden beaches and iconic landmarks, and it did not disappoint.
The day began with a safety briefing at ABC Tours Aruba, where we were handed our keys to the UTVs. The anticipation was palpable as we revved our engines and set off into the desert-like landscape. The thrill of racing through the dusty trails at speeds of up to 70 km/h was unlike anything I’d experienced before. The wind in my hair and the sun on my face made me feel alive, and I couldn’t help but smile as we kicked up clouds of orange dust behind us.
Discovering Aruba’s Hidden Gems
Our first stop was the Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins, a hauntingly beautiful reminder of Aruba’s rich history. The ruins stood as a testament to the island’s past, and our guide shared fascinating stories of the gold rush era. We took a moment to snap some photos before continuing our journey.
Next, we arrived at the pristine natural pool, a hidden gem discovered just two years ago. The crystal-clear waters were a welcome respite from the heat and dust, and I couldn’t resist the urge to jump from the cliff into the refreshing pool below. The camaraderie among our group was infectious, and we cheered each other on as we took the plunge. It was a moment of pure joy and adventure, one that I’ll cherish forever.
Embracing the Dust and Sun
As we continued our tour, we made several stops at breathtaking locations like Blackstone Beach and Wariruri Bay. Each spot offered its own unique charm, from the black boulders of Blackstone Beach to the rocky coastline of Wariruri Bay, known for its surfing opportunities.
A few pro tips for anyone considering this adventure: don’t wear white unless you’re ready to say goodbye to it, and invest in a bandana and sunglasses to protect yourself from the relentless dust. Trust me, you’ll thank me later. And if you’re a contact lens wearer, consider switching to glasses for the day.
The tour concluded with a delicious meal at Waka Waka Safari Restaurant, where we indulged in local specialties and shared stories of our adventure. As I sipped on a cold Balashi Chill, I reflected on the day’s excitement and the incredible beauty of Aruba’s hidden treasures. This UTV tour was a thrilling departure from my usual ocean escapades, and I can’t wait to share more island adventures with you all.
