Experience a transformative dive with our Fluorescent Night Diving! Even experienced divers are left in awe after their initial fluorescent night dive. The underwater landscape transforms into an otherworldly realm. Common descriptions include;
“Alien-like”, “Underwater disco”, and “stepping into an alternate universe”.
Fluorescence is a natural occurrence that some sea life exhibits without expending energy. The biological reason behind this phenomenon is still a mystery to researchers. However, it’s known that certain marine organisms and corals exhibit a radiant glow under specific light frequencies, while others remain unchanged from their appearance during a standard night dive.
Marine biologists studying coral use this glowing effect to spot “coral recruits” on the seabed. These are young coral polyps that have settled on the seabed to begin a new coral colony. They are small and difficult to detect in daylight but shine like tiny beacons during a fluorescent dive.

The blue light used in fluorescent night diving is not a blacklight. The blacklight would work, but due to the physical properties of water, the specific wavelength of our blue lights has better results.
In order to get the best results, something has to take the blue out of the light that bounces of what you’re looking at. Therefore, we wear a visor that covers our masks. This visor has a specific yellow color that takes out the blue and leaves only the fluorescent colors.
For the absolute best results, we only use the best equipment available on the market. A lot of research has gone into the equipment we use to get the perfect wavelength of light for optimal excitation of the coral.
