Upon entering, guests follow a path that guides them through the brewery’s rich history, leading to the Sake brewery itself. While the exterior of the brewery building maintains its original look from its inception, the interior is equipped for Sake production. Here, visitors can witness the Sake-making process, which remains largely handcrafted. Even those new to Japanese Sake will find the intricate and captivating production methods offer a profound appreciation for the craft and a close connection to the essence of Japanese culture. At the conclusion of the brewery tour, there is an opportunity to sample a variety of Ichinoya’s Sake at the bar, allowing guests to discover flavors that match their personal tastes.
• Wachigai - Wachigai is a local cuisine restaurant located near Ichinoya. Similar to Ichinoya, the restaurant is set in a building dating back to the Edo period, preserving its historical charm. Entering feels like stepping back in time. At Wachigai, traditional local ingredients and dishes are innovatively reimagined with a modern flair. Visitors from across Japan come to enjoy the unique culinary experiences available here. Guests can indulge in a lunch course paired with a Sake tasting set featuring selections from Ichinoya’s brewery. The restaurant also features a shop where Ichinoya’s Sake and a variety of other souvenirs can be purchased. Be sure to take some time to shop and bring a piece of this experience home with you.

Are you new to Sake or a seasoned connoisseur? This private Sake brewery tour offers an immersive journey into the world of Sake, along with unique cultural experiences.

The tour will guide you to Ichinoya Sake Brewery, founded in 1865, which continues to craft high-quality Sake using traditional techniques. You will witness the brewing process, primarily done by hand with minimal machinery, recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2024.

The tour includes:

• A visit to Ichinoya Sake Brewery to learn about Sake production
• Tasting sessions of Sake and water
• A lunch featuring local ingredients paired with Ichinoya’s Sake series at Wachigai restaurant, housed in a traditional Machiya-style building from the late Edo period, offering a wonderful atmosphere
• Opportunities to purchase Sake and other local products
• Photos taken throughout the tour and shared with guests

The tour begins at 11:00 am and lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours, including lunch. Guests are free to explore after lunch.
