Chavin de Huantar - Enjoy a morning meal at your Huaraz hotel, followed by a pick-up from your lodging and a drive to the starting point of Canrey Chico (3350m), located roughly 30km to the south of Huaraz. Here, we’ll join forces with our donkey handlers and their pack animals, load up our hiking gear, and commence our trek. We’ll follow the Rio Negro valley towards the eastern side, heading towards the snowy peaks. The ascent through the valley reveals increasingly stunning vistas. After a steady climb, we’ll reach our campsite at Sacracancha after approximately 5-6 hours, set up our tents, and spend the night at an elevation of around 4090 masl.
