Inhabited all year by about 1000 people.
Typical village that lives mainly from fishing. There will be a guided tour and time for lunch. Lunch is not included in the tour price. We can book a table in a restaurant to be more comfortable and have more time.

Great time!!! - Rui was incredibly kind. Authentic, attentive, simple, we recommend with our eyes closed! Even the dog Lili is adorable. We were missing the meal at Rui's mother's house to complete the picture, we'll come back for that! A huge thank you!!!

Excellent boat tripo with Paolo of Rotas das Ilha - We had a beautiful boat trip in Ria Formosa with Rotas das Ilha. Our skipper Paolo was excellent guide, he knows all about the ria eco system and life and explains everything with his great knowledge and excellent English. We were 4 members of the family and 2 others joined the sail. it was so unique , interesting, and 3.5 hours with sun set sight passed quickly. Thank you Paolo for wonderful boat trip.

Perfect experience in Olhao - We chose a standard trip but it was great experience and the best choice we could do to see all of the islands around Olhao! The tour guide was trying to transfer a lot of knowledge to the tourists about nature in this area and much more !😉

Beach walk - What a great opportunity to travel to the closest island and walk the beach. The small beach cabins were interesting to see but the highlight was the beach. We planned to take the boat from Olhao to Farol, and be back in 3/4 hours. Our captain suggested we get off at Hangares, walk across the the beach then back, on the beach towards the lighthouse to Farol. Glad we followed his advice. Well worth the trip and only 6.50 per person return.

EXCELLENT - We loved the walk on the islands with Luis who was kind, energetic and full of humor and spoke French very well. His knowledge of the different sites visited was very detailed and we ate in a very good restaurant, with fresh fish on his advice. At reception, the people spoke French well too.

fantastic experience with experienced local fisherman guide - Gur guide was very knowledgeable about the wildlife in the National park and willing to share this with his guests As a fisherman himself he knew and was prepared to share his understanding in a very friendly and easy way . He was prepared to take us into his family home and feed his guests with some of the families local produce green sparkly wine and oysters, fantastic !!

Have a nice day on the water. - The islands are not spectacularly beautiful but nice enough to make this trip. On the last island there is a beautiful lighthouse that unfortunately did not reopen after the pandemic. The guide Paulo was fantastic. Could tell a lot in an enthusiastic, infectious way. Definitely wonderful on a boat with such warm temperatures!
