Highlights
  • Bay of the Bones Museum - This museum is replica of pre-historic settlement. You will be able to see the wooden pile-dwelling settlement and get familiar with the life at the lake from the period of about 3000 years ago.
  • Monastery of Saint Naum - Church of St.Naum is 10th century church that used to be the first hospital in the area, founded by St.Naum. In the later centuries the church has been rebuilt, but the grave of St.Naum remain original, and as per the legend you can hear his heartbeat from his grave.
In the area are located the springs of “Crn Drim”, attraction by themselves with the crystal clear water coming under the mountain Galichica from Lake Prespa. There are small rawing boats that you can take for a tour through the springs.
There are nice restaurants too, and beach area where you can swim and sunbathe at the lake.

beautiful boat trip - In the port of Ohrid you are often approached for a boat trip. €25 for a boat trip on Lake Ohrid. Several stops along the way. Lunch break at St Naum Monastery. Wonderful tour of 6 hours

Family with teenagers - Took this trip with my teenagers. Absolutely worth it and a must if you are staying in Ohrid. Fantastic value for money and packed with interesting history. The boat ride is super smooth on the lake. A blessing for those cursed with motion sickness. The timing at the stops was well thought out in my opinion. Neither too rushed or lagging. Lovely mock / cocktails. Lovely memories. Tip. Had a bad meal at one of the two restaurants whilst we were there. The only one on our holiday and nothing to do with the trip organisers. Be careful of the BBQ place selling chicken. My daughters was raw in the middle.

Great day trip from Ohrid - The boat trip was so relaxing, an hour to St Naum, checked out the beautiful monastery and took another boat trip around the natural springs - so beautiful! Swam in the lake and then had cocktails on the boat on the way back. Only negative was the limited choice of food available at St Naum’s - just one formal restaurant and quite pricey, no real sandwich/light lunch options. Overall though, a wonderful day out!

Highly recommended - Great value trip visiting both the Bay of Bones and St Naum. Stunning scenery throughout. The crew were great and very helpful. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was a definite bonus.

Almost perfect boat trip - The boat ride was very comfortable and the perfect outing for a sunny day in May. I do have a few pointers, though. 1: I was not very impressed with the drinks on board. They were not all correctly prepared. 2: 20 minutes at The Bay of Bones is not enough time. The museum ticket also includes the Roman fortress, but there is no way you’re gonna be able to see both. 3: While I understand you may need 3 hours at the monastery in the summer season (full restaurants, etc), we were satisfied here after about 2 hours (enough time to see the monastery, have lunch, and take a boat trip on the springs) and spent the last hour just waiting to leave. This extra time (or at least 30 minutes of it) could have been spent at the museum instead. 4: I was given to understand there would be some sort of information by the crew about the places we visited, but there was nothing. They only told us when to be back on the boat. Regardless of this, we had a lovely day on the lake and we really enjoyed the trip.

Definitely worth doing if you have enough time. - The "Armada" is one of the many ships on Lake Ohrid. Tickets cannot be bought on site, so it is less crowded with groups. Enjoy the boat trip, you will definitely feel the wind, but less than on the other ships because of the large, cozy cushions. The ship's owner is probably not from the lake, and cocktails are fairly inexpensive. Rip-off on land, so it's worth taking a longer look around and walking around.

Interesting to see, but this doesn't have to be a 7-hour trip! - The boat trip to St. Naum left on time and offered beautiful views of Ohrid. It was relatively busy on the boat due to a large group that had booked together, which made it quite cramped. We were allowed to spend 3 to 4 hours once we arrived. This was a bit too much of a good thing. Half an hour is enough to see St. Naum. We had a leisurely lunch, but could not help but feel that the reason for spending 3-4 hours there was mainly due to the fact that the boat was busy with other activities elsewhere. In conclusion, it may be better to do this activity via rental car or taxi - so that you have more control over the timetable.
