I was born and raised in Mansfield. My father worked at the Farmers Bank Building and his windows looked out to where we could see the reformatory when we would visit him at the office. It wasn’t a topic of conversation during my childhood. I never really knew much about its purpose even in high school. I am now 68 and felt it was time to understand the history of the reformatory.
What I saw and heard through the guided tour was quite eye opening and humbling. I am very glad I went to tour it. Thank you so much that there was interest in saving this historical place. You have done a wonderful job maintaining the historical meaning of this landmark.
