- 869 US-64 - After a brief orientation, you’ll board our bus for a ride into the Cherokee National Forest with views of Lake Ocoee and the river on your ride to the Ocoee River. Your Middle Ocoee adventure will begin at the Ocoee #1 Dam where your guide will go through a complete safety orientation with practice time before getting on the river. The Middle Ocoee River is 5 miles of class III/IV whitewater, featuring 17 major rapids and is 90% whitewater giving you miles of big waves, action and fun. As you descend the river gorge you’ll be immersed in the beauty of the Cherokee National Forest. Your smiles and laughter will get bigger with each rapid as your confidence builds. This is the perfect bonding trip for family, friends and groups alike. No experience necessary! At the end of your river adventure, the bus will bring you back to the outpost where you’ll get a chance to look at photos from your trip and change back into dry clothes. Minimum age to participate is 12 years of age.

This stretch is suitable for rafting novices and veterans alike, with over 20 consecutive class III & IV rapids. The multiple surfing and play areas explain why it draws in countless individuals every year, eager to experience this picturesque 5-mile route. Starting just downstream from the Ocoee Dam No. 2, your journey begins with a thrilling rapid named Grumpy’s, followed by Broken Nose, Roller Coaster, Table Saw, Hell’s Hole, and many others. The cherry on top is a refreshing swim spot about halfway the distance, which helps you truly connect with the river. Our experienced river guides are committed to making your excursion unforgettable.

Thanks Cassie - Cassie was incredible. Such a fun person to talk to and we had such a blast. You could not tell she was a rookie for sure. She got us out of some sticky situations and we even pulled in two swimmers from another company’s flipped raft. I hope you got your hard earned beer from the other guide! Thank you again

Fantastic last minute trip! - This was a fantastic trip!!! Our guide Christian was amazing and my light swimming hubby was hesitant and by the time we got off...was planning another trip with friends. We will definitely be back and requesting the same guide!!!

Great experience - This about 2nd white water rafting trip since Sept, and we would not hesitate to come back to Cherokee Rafting again. Top notch facility/equipment, and great people. Our guide Bella was amazing. She was insightful, knowledgeable, and made it a very enjoyable trip. We even stayed at their campground in our RV which made everything simple.

Fun Beginner Rafting Experience - This was such a fun experience! My friends and I went for our friend’s birthday, and for many of us, this was the first time we had ever been white water rafting. The safety of all the participants in our group was taken seriously while still maintaining a fun atmosphere. Thanks to our great guide, Dane, and our teamwork, my group successfully navigated the course without falling out, and we even rescued 2 people that had fallen out of their raft.
I would highly recommend Cherokee Rafting for rafting beginners and veterans!

Great trip down the Ocoee - We had a fantastic time on the Ocoee River Rafting Trip. My teenagers loved it so much they wanted to go again the next day and our tour guide, Mike, was fantastic with his kindness and his knowledge of the river. Highly recommend!

Absolutely perfect! - Such a great rafting company! Highly recommend. We had Cam as a guide and he was absolutely awesome. I can’t wait to come back! Ages were 63, 31 and 22. All good swimmers but no rafting experience… thanks Cherokee Rafting and Cam!!

Fantastic river run - We have been rafting in Colorado and Oregon for years but this run was fantastic! Even better than Colorado rafting. The water was great. Josh, our guide was one of the best river guides. Shout out to his mom! Fun trip and just the right amount of time on the water.

Good ride - Did the 3 hour trip down the lower section. Preacher Mike was our guide....lots of stories along the way through good sized Tennessee rapids
The company is well organized with good equipment and changing facilities.
