869 US-64 - After a brief orientation, you’ll board our bus for a ride into the Cherokee National Forest with views of Lake Ocoee and the river on your ride to the Ocoee River. Your Middle Ocoee adventure will begin at the Ocoee #1 Dam where your guide will go through a complete safety orientation with practice time before getting on the river. The Middle Ocoee River is 5 miles of class III/IV whitewater, featuring 17 major rapids and is 90% whitewater giving you miles of big waves, action and fun. As you descend the river gorge you’ll be immersed in the beauty of the Cherokee National Forest. Your smiles and laughter will get bigger with each rapid as your confidence builds. This is the perfect bonding trip for family, friends and groups alike. No experience necessary! At the end of your river adventure, the bus will bring you back to the outpost where you’ll get a chance to look at photos from your trip and change back into dry clothes. Minimum age to participate is 12 years of age.

This stretch is suitable for rafting novices and veterans alike, with over 20 consecutive class III & IV rapids. The multiple surfing and play areas explain why it draws in countless individuals every year, eager to experience this picturesque 5-mile route. Starting just downstream from the Ocoee Dam No. 2, your journey begins with a thrilling rapid named Grumpy’s, followed by Broken Nose, Roller Coaster, Table Saw, Hell’s Hole, and many others. The cherry on top is a refreshing swim spot about halfway the distance, which helps you truly connect with the river. Our experienced river guides are committed to making your excursion unforgettable.

The best part of our trip (from a true scaredy cat) - First off, I’m a huge chicken. We arrived at the parking lot and it was 53 degrees outside and I realllly didn’t want to go in a river raft in that weather. But I did. And it wound up being my favorite 2 hours of our trip!! My husband and I had a solo raft with our guide Ryan. Worth mentioning that Ryan was absolutely incredible. He calmed my nerves and laid out every detail of the upcoming rapids. I smiled the whole time and couldn’t have been happier with him and with the whole experience. The leaves were changing and the water was warmer than the air. We were provided with splash jackets and those kept us very warm and protected. Underneath I had two running shirts and wore shorts and waterproof sandals. It was sufficient. The shuttle ride was about 20 mins there and 10 back or so. The whole adventure was epic and I’m already ready to do it again.
