White water rafting personal adventure - Best excursion/adventure we’ve ever been. Definitely well worth the money and time. We were out on the water from 10:30-4:30 riding the waves! Request TRAVIS! He is a fantastic and very kind tour guide. He made the trip very personal and also took us on a few beautiful trails off the river. Travis really enjoys what he does and it shows. Would do it again and now we’re interested in going rafting in other states. The staff and gift shop were also very nice. We bought cool shirts and pictures that were taken while rafting.

Highly recommend the high adventure trip - Our guide Kat was amazing! She was up for whatever we wanted to do, but also kept an eye on our safety to make sure we had an unforgettable adventure. We played in the rapids to our heart’s content, hiked up creek beds, and had a stupendous day! Kat tailored the trip to us throughout the day. In the beginning when we were full of energy, we did all kinds of crazy things, and then as we got tired she entertained us with funny stories.

Awsome experience - This trip was awesome! Travis was our guide and he was super knowledgeable about the surrounding history, stopping periodically to check out the sights then back to the river to push our beginner skills to get the adrenaline pumping! Can’t recommend this trip enough it was well worth the extra money to have a private adventure tailored to us!

BEST Whitewater Rafting Trip - complete with intense rapids and hours of fun - The High Adventure Trip with Travis was the BEST whitewater rafting experience of my life. This is a MUST DO for adventurous individuals/couples /families. Instead of the typical white water rafting experience where you float down and go down the rapids once, this trip features a small "Puma" as your boat which allows you to maneuver back into the rapids and allows for "riding the waves" multiple times. Travis was so knowledgable and knew those rapids so well so he always knew exactly where to guide the boat to give us the best ride and experience all the "tricks" the river has to offer. I feel spoiled now that I will never go back to the "typical" whitewater rafting experience and will instead opt for the High Adventure tour every time. This seems to be the only company around that even OFFERS this option so you can be sure that I will definitely be a repeat customer. The best Ocoee river experience ever! - If you are looking for the ultimate experience white water rafting on the Ocoee river, this is it. We got to the Cherokee rafting center at 10 AM and got back around 4:30. We spent quite a bit of time surfing in areas that usually, you just fly past. After about an hour on the river we noticed that most of the commercial rafting companies had past us and we had the river mostly to ourselves. The raft we rode in is the AIRE Puma. These are a bit smaller and take at most 4 guests with one guide. We stopped at jump off rock where you can jump in and get washed down through a small rapid, swim into the eddy and then let the eddy take you back up to the rock where you climb out and do it all over again. We also jumped off the rock at the bottom of the cats pajamas rapids where you can try to complete the "mystery move." You pencil in feet first and try to go as deep as you can. If you are successful, the water washes you down about 30-40 feet under water in just seconds where you pop back to the surface, swim to the eddy that pulls you right up to the rock you jumped off - and repeat. This is loads of fun!!! We also surfed. Surfing is fun, but you can flip on some of the more aggressive holes. Well, my wife and I have done this river on our own, so that was no problem for us and we did flip the raft and have to swim out of a feature called washer machine. If you really don't want to flip, tell your guide and they will steer clear of the more aggressive surf spots. Our guide was Travis - he did a great job and was very laid back about the experience. I highly recommend him. We have also had several other guides over the last 10+ years from Cherokee and they have all been great! How do you know if this experience is for you? If this is your first time going white water rafting and you enjoy water, immediately plan to go twice! I recommend you go on the Middle river your first time. Its load of fun and will provide you with your first look at the river. If, on the other hand, you have some experience white water rafting and you want to really enjoy this river to the fullest, do the High Adventure! A word about ability and age. I'm 53 years old, but in good shape, my wife is 52 years old and in better shape (in fact she has always been in better shape than me). We were pleasantly tired at the end of our day (but I think we also wore out Travis a bit - because when I'm playing in the water I really like to do as much as possible).

Love Cherokee and their guides. - 2nd time to raft with Cherokee. We love this company, the staff is well trained and are a lot of fun to be around. The owners were nice and know how to run their company for a quality experience. We noticed that other guides on the river were foul mouthed, even around young kids, but the Cherokee guides were very respectful. We had a lot of fun and will definitely be back. Props to Kat, our guide, she was amazing! We liked her so much that we asked for her again the next day. Emma is great too, she was our guide on the 1st trip a few years ago. Also want to mention Travis, he wasn't our guide but his group was having a great time & we will be rafting with him in the future.

Puma Rafts!! - We had an amazing time. Travis, was stupendous!!! What a great time we had.....and.....prepare to be challenged!!

Awesome Trip!!! - I’ve always done the Full River trip and highly recommend it, but this was the first time I also took the High Adventure trip. This is a MUST DO!!! Kat was our guide and I requested her because of the great job she did last year. The High Adventure trip is the BEST trip I’ve ever taken after 12 trips on the Ocoee Upper & Middle. We spent a few hours taking our time doing the most fun stuff you can do on the river - LOTS of surfing, bathtubbing, spinning, etc. And I found out Cherokee is the ONLY outfitter on the Ocoee that does the High Adventure trip. When I come back I will ALWAYS do this again with Cherokee. And Kat made the trip an even greater experience. She’s awesome! Highly recommend this trip and Kat!!!
