Love this tour and Antonio our guide - We just loved this tour and our guide Antonio...id recommend this tour to anyone wanting to check out some of the most amazing things you’ll only find here in Oaxaca...in addition, Antonio is a very good man with many talents who helped with translating when needed and was just a pleasure to talk to. I give this tour a 10/10 and am so glad we took it.

Amazing tour seeing local artisans in their craft ... 5 stars - The trip to the Alebrijes factory was amazing. Watching the artisan hand paint the figurines with such detail and skill.

Watching the artists at work! - This tour gave an intimate and in-depth experience with three types of Oaxacan crafts. We watched hands-on creation of Black Clay Pottery, Alebrije Wood Carvings and Back-Strap Weaving. I can tell my friends all about the artists who actually created the little gifts I brought back to them.

Incredible morning of art - We were unsure what to expect from this three village tour, but our day exceeded expectations! We traveled to three villages to see how black pottery, alejibres, and back strap looming are all made-- and what an incredible, in depth look at these artisan crafts we saw. Truly a wonderful way to get out of the city and into the surrounding villages to learn about the rich history of these artists. Daniel, our tour guide, was wonderful as well-- just the right amount of information sharing and great personality. We didn't feel any pressure to buy anything (though we did-- how could you resist these beautiful works of art!?) and it didn't feel like a schlocky tour at all. definitely recommend.

Top Artisans - Tour takes you to three of the best artisans in alebrijes, back-strap weaving, and barro negro. Sites are off the beaten track, but judging by the awards these artists have received they are not unknown to collectors and high-end vendors. Guide was very friendly and easy to talk with. Same with the artists and staff in the studios. They show you everything about their work process and leave you alone to browse the pieces offered for sale.

Wonderful way to see local artisans at work. - The local company were not great with communication. The tour itself was lovely and the guide and driver excellent. Fantastic to see local artisans. Excellent quality products. Good to see the countryside around Oaxaca too.

Tour okay, but will try again after back to more 'normal' times! - Seeing the very rustic way they make Mezcal was super interesting and the guide was well informed about the process. I also very much enjoyed the tour of the family run alebrijas business. I felt this was thorough enough to get a good understanding of the process involved as well as all the zapotecan symbols used in the painting of these beautiful pieces of art! There were a couple of spots that unfortunately just felt like a cash grab although when I asked to see a little more of the process they were somewhat accommodating, so felt a little better about it. I did think that we were going to see how they make the berro negro that Oaxaca is famous for? But maybe this tour like many others right now have had to alter due to covid? I would recommend to friends but only after it has come back to more 'normal'. The tour guide was well informed and was helpful in answering questions, etc.
