The first thing we do on the tour is to go directly to Hierve el Agua as our first stop. We stay there for 3 hours to have enough time to enjoy the natural wonders of Hierve el Agua without rushing.

There you can go hiking with local guides, or enjoy the spas that are there.

After visiting this wonderful place, on the way back to the city we visit one of the most popular mezcal distilleries in Oaxaca.

Awsome day trip! - The tour was perfect! We had a wonderfull time, met nice people and had a lovely time discovering the panaderia, swiming and hicking at hierve al agua, and doing the mezcal tasting. The hike at hierve al agua is definetely worth it. It’s very short (about 1 hour), and quite easy, and the view is stunning. I suggest you do it before swimming, to refresh after the walk under the hot sun. Definetely recommand!

Amazing trip with wonderful guides and driver. - We had an amazing time on our trip to Hierve Al Agua. From start to finish the trip was fantastic. Our guide shared tons of information about the surrounding areas, culture, and food. The hike was hard, made more difficult by heat, but very beautiful. Bring lots of water and you will be ok! The pools were refreshing after a hot hike. The bathrooms cost $5 pesos so bring coins/small bills. The mezcal tasting was fun and informative. Overall, this was a highlight from our trip and I could not recommend it any higher!

Fun - Tour was great, didn’t feel rushed. Margarita was our tour guide and very informative, fun and friendly. Only locals are allowed to do tour guides at the waterfalls so Margarita couldn’t come round with us but it was Nice to do our own thing independently when there.

Spectacular and full on! - The trip was full on and spectacular. A few tips to make it even better - 1) miss out the bread stop 2) warn people that the trek down to see the waterfall is very difficult, particularly in the searing hit. It is not for the feint hearted. Take plenty of drinking water as there is no refreshment until you get back up to the car park. The mezcal tour was really professional and informative 😀

Excellent tour to natural swimming pools - Such an enjoyable day. The hike was great, plus we had plenty of time to enjoy swimming in the natural pools. I think Herve el Agua was the highlight of our stay in Oaxaca. I’m so glad that we didn’t go on a tour that combines lots of places in one day as this attraction is so special and you will want to make the most of it.

Great experience! - Overall great experience. I went solo, but was in a group with 8 others. Meeting point was easy to get to and they have bathrooms there. Fany the tour guide was amazing, kind, patient and very informative. The driver was also very nice. The tour was accurate for the description with the stops. We stopped at the bakery where we sampled three different breads and then had 10-15 minutes to purchase breads, tamales or coffee (you can get it to go and eat on the ride to hierve el agua if you're a slow eater). After arriving at Hierve El Agua (around 11am) we had three hours to hike, swim and eat. The hike is intense but you don't have to hike if you don't want to (there is a ramp you can walk down to get to the pools). I suggest bringing water or purchasing water there. There are tour guides you can hire to guide you through the hike (you tip them as much as you'd like), but most of them only speak Spanish. Pesos are the only form of money accepted at the stops so make sure you bring cash to buy food, drinks and souvenirs. You'll also need 5 pesos each time you need to use the restroom anywhere (except the bakery). There are no lockers available at hierve el agua but you can leave unnecessary items in the van. I personally just left my items next to me at the pool. There are stalls to change in. The food available for purchase were tamales, quesadillas, tyludas, etc. There are snacks like chips, fresh fruit, soda, water, as well as alcohol available. They also had souvenirs, hats and clothes available. After the hike/pools, the mezcal distillery was informative and you are able to try multiple mezcals. You can purchase bottles to take with you. If you spend over 800 pesos you can use a credit or debit card. Anything under is pesos only. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful Views - We had a great time on this trip and our guide Margarita was wonderful! We went on an extremely hot day and I would just caution folks who want to do the full hike, that it's rather steep at the end. I went with my father who is older and he had some difficulty on the back part of the trail. All that said, it was absolutely beautiful and a great way to see the countryside. The mezcal tour was a perfect ending and not too long. I don't normally do group tours when I travel but the group was great and I would recommend this to others.
