Here you will learn the entire process from the meaning of the designs, the embroidery techniques and the making of each of the garments.
A workshop will be offered where you will learn to embroider the design of your choice on a garment that you can take with you. -
San Martin Tilcajete - San Martín Tilcajete, land famous for its Alebrijes.
In this place you will learn the historical origin of these unique pieces, the necessary materials as well as the collection and carving process, color creation methods that you will use in the workshop to paint your own Alebrije.

San Bartolo Coyotepec - Land of black mud.
In San Bartolo Coyotepec you will learn the origin of this unique material in the world, we will see the molding and baking process to achieve these pieces and their different uses.

Greetings! We’re Karina and Fernando, a true Oaxacan couple, eager to share our admiration for the crafts of our exquisite state with you.
In this activity, you’ll acquire knowledge and make your own handcraft.
Firstly, we’ll guide you to the artisan village of San Antonino Castillo Velasco, renowned for its magnificent hand-embroidered textiles. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to embroider a small keepsake to take home.
Next, we’ll head to San Martín Tilcajete, a locale celebrated for its Alebrijes. We’ll explore the entire procedure through which these unique artifacts are made, and you’ll even get to paint your own Alebrije. Lastly, we will visit San Bartolo Coyotepec, the birthplace of black pottery. We’ll show you the creation process of these charming handcrafts, inviting you to join in and make a unique piece of your own. We’re aiming for you to return home with an unforgettable experience and a slice of Oaxaca.
