Zona Arqueológica de Monte Albán - Monte Albán, the primary archaeological site of Oaxaca, is recognized as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage site. This area features a large rectangular plaza surrounded by palaces, temples, shrines, ball courts, and tombs.
Please note that during the pandemic, there may be a wait to enter the archaeological site. The waiting time could be up to 1.5 hours, and there are no restrooms or restaurants available.
San Antonio Arrazola - The next destination is Arrazola, where artisans’ creativity is showcased in small copal wood pieces, creating a fantastic zoology known as Alebrijes.
Convento de Cuilapam - Continue the journey to Cuilapam de Guerrero, where you can admire a majestic 16th-century Dominican convent. The main attractions include the Open Chapel, the unfinished Basilica Church, and the impressive Ex-Convent of Cuilapam.
Please be aware that during the pandemic, the Ex-Convent may be closed to tourists. In such cases, the building can be admired from the outside, with time for photographs.
Doña Rosa Studio - The final stop of this excursion is San Bartolo de Coyotepec, where you will be enchanted by the black clay pottery crafted by local artisans. At Doña Rosa Studio, there will be a demonstration of how Black Pottery is made.
Archaeological Site of Mitla, Hierve el Agua, and Mezcal Factory
Tule Tree - The community of Santa María el Tule is renowned for hosting “El Árbol del Tule” (Tule Tree), one of Oaxaca’s most extraordinary natural wonders, a giant Sabine tree approximately 2000 years old.
Please note that during the pandemic, access to the Tule Tree may be limited. In such cases, it can be admired from a distance of 50 to 100 meters.
Teotitlán Del Valle - The journey continues to Teotitlán del Valle, a charming artisan town known for its wool rugs, crafted on homemade looms and colored with natural dyes.
Zona Arqueológica de Mitla - Next, visit the Sacred City of Mitla, a significant ceremonial center where the ecclesiastical power of the Zapotec Culture was established. The harmony between its buildings and the proportion of its courtyards, highlighted by the extraordinary fretwork on the walls, makes this place unique in Mesoamerica.

A journey to Monte Alban to explore the archaeological marvel, followed by a visit to the craft village of Arrazola (known for Alebrijes handcrafts), extending to the Exconvent of Culiapam and finally San Bartolo Coyotepec (distinct for black pottery)
The Mitla Route, which includes viewing the Tule Tree, exploring Teotitlan del Valle (renowned for wool carpets), the Mitla archaeological spectacle, Hierve el Agua and the Mezcal Factory.
