What could POSSIBLY more terrifying than a sailor with a gun? A soldier with a boat! - This morning, my long-time shipmate and dive buddy Jack restarted our annual holiday dive. Dive Master Jeff (GMC, USN Ret.), and Cap'n Mike (11B, Airborn!, USA Vet.) took us out from Waianae Boat Harbor for a deep dive on the Mahi, and ordered up some Spotted Eagle Rays for a “Swim By”. Our shallow dive along the Makaha Caverns included a crab the size of a football, an Octopus that tried to take Chief’s wrist home, and a HUMONGOUS turtle! It was a GORGEOUS winter day off Oahu’s West Coast, with a moderate swell, and some Spinner Dolphins nearby. Only thing missing on the boat is a bar! Fantastic attention to safety and comfort.

Great diving experience! - The diving was great and our guides Nacho and Heather were excellent. We saw a lot of large turtles, a shark, octopus, lots of eels. Highly recommend these guys!

Highly recommend - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Highly recommend - top notch dive shop and school - all around excellent experience! Travelled from San Diego (recommended from SD dive instructor) to take Advanced Open Water course in the warm Hawaiian waters and was the best experience! Professional staff, instructors and boat captains with excellent gear. When schedule changed due to high swells, Morgan made sure I was able to get cert before flying out - much appreciated their flexible schedule. Jeff and Charlie were great instructors and dive master Ami was on a separate charter prior to class - all amazing people! Definitely the place to go for all scuba needs!

Luckily, I was able to... - Luckily, I was able to visit both the Sea Tiger and the Shallow Pipe in great weather. I want to thank Nacho, Matt, and Ella for doing their best to make our dives safe and comfortable. If I come back to Hawaii again, I’d love to dive together once more!

Amazing experience! - We did the 2 tank reef and wreck dive with Nacho and Jerrod. We had an awesome experience, Nacho was our captain and comic and Jerrod was our chill dive master. I was nervous that I would struggle equalizing and they made me feel comfortable and helped me through it all and we were able to see white tip reef sharks, turtles, and tons of fish! The wreck was super cool and the visibility was insane.. we could see about 150ft! Highly recommend this company for diving!

Highly recommended for qualified divers! - Another great experience with Dive Oahu! Very professional and friendly, great gear setup, good pre-brief, just a lot of fun! They were also very good at pointing out hard to see sea creatures for us visitors.

Rough weather but great crew! - We were scheduled for a three tank dive that unfortunately turned out to be a stormy day. The three tank charter was cancelled (thankfully in retrospect after being on the water) and they moved us easily to the only two tank charter for that morning. Despite rough conditions on the water the crew were all highly professional and upbeat the entire time. My wife and I had a great experience despite the weather and will definitely be going back out with Dive Oahu in the future.

Mixed experience – diving was fine, organization could improve - We booked a two-dive trip with Dive Oahu on Thanksgiving day. While we completed both dives and enjoyed the second reef dive, the experience felt unstructured. Our booking listed the Sea Tiger wreck. On the boat, a crew member asked the group which wreck to do, and someone immediately suggested YO because they planned to dive Sea Tiger later. That became the plan. As first-time customers and first-time wreck divers, we didn’t mind too much, but a clearer, more formal process would have been better given what was advertised. The first dive was planned as YO to San Pedro wreck. We descended on YO successfully but moved through it quickly and then swam in open water. San Pedro was not located. We were later told this was because our divemaster lost her bearing, likely due to the boat’s orientation being different than usual. She apologized sincerely and told us we would receive a refund. The second dive went smoothly. However, after returning to shore, the first dive was never discussed again. Despite emailing multiple Dive Oahu contacts afterward, we never received a response regarding the promised refund. Mistakes can happen in diving. What matters is structure, transparency, and follow-through, which were lacking here. This may suit experienced repeat divers more than first-time customers.
