- Ala Wai Canal - The Ala Wai Canal is an artificial waterway in Honolulu, Hawaii which serves as the northern boundary of the tourist district of Waikiki. It was created in 1928 to drain the rice paddies and swamps which would eventually become Waikiki. It also serves as a primary drainage corridor for the rivers and streams that run through central and east Honolulu.
The canal runs from just northwest of Kapahulu Avenue along the length of Waikiki, then turns southwest to empty into the Pacific Ocean. Bridges cross the canal at McCully Street, Kalākaua Avenue, and Ala Moana Boulevard. Ala Wai Boulevard runs parallel to the west side of the canal in Waikiki.

After booking a tour, Shaxi Hawaii will get in touch and guide you on the procedure to make the payment in advance, time slots and assistance to secure your QR code for the tour date.

Hiking up Diamond Head - Our tour guides Lisa and Mike were absolutely wonderful. Lisa is a wealth of information. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to hike up Diamond Head. Mahalo.

Curtis&Mitzie on the Diamond Head Hike, Oahu - Although we saw this hike whilst browsing and didn't think much of actually walking it. My fiance just spontaneously said let's go on the Diamond Head Hike !
We called for our car to be pulled up and hit the GPS route.
Have to say that we are active and this fit right in line with our lifestyle.
It was a great experience and I'd have to say I would not shy away from doing it again to catch any views that we didn't catch the 1st time. The views and resting points along the way are simply amazing.
The Hike is very well laid out and an easy walk as the trail snakes on cliffs edge and even through the mountain at one point. So cool.

Fun and Informative - This was the perfect tour of Waikiki, with great tour guides. We learned about all of the nice restaurants, shops, bakery’s and much more. It is also a great way to get some history on Waikiki. The hike at the end is a great way to end it, it is very fulfilling once you’re able to see the amazing view from the top. In conclusion I would definitely recommend this tour as it is very informative and has spectacular guides that will make this a fun and informative experience for all.

Informational and So Beautiful! - This was a great tour that we got to do on our first full day in Waikiki! Lisa and Michael showed us all the great areas of the city and gave us a lot of cool facts and information on the different areas to visit while here! Lisa got AWESOME pictures of us the whole tour which was so great and very appreciated! The hike up to Diamond Head was so beautiful and the sights were breathtaking! I would 100% recommend this tour as one of the first to do!

Shaxi was GREAT!!!! Thank you Michael and Lisa! - Shaxi was awesome to work with! After originally booking, it became apparent that the hike on Friday morning was going to experience some rain. After messaging Shaxi, Michael reached out right away and worked with me to change the time and day to a sunnier option :). Lisa and Michael went out of their way to make me feel like royalty on their tour. Such an easy fun filled tour which included a tour of Waikiki, Diamond Head hike, and then finishing with the famous Leonard's Bakery :). A perfect 3 to 4 hour excursion while in Oahu :). Don't hesitate to book with Shaxi!

Very enjoyable - Michael was our driver and tour guide. Fortunately, we were the only people on the tour that morning. Michael was very knowledgeable about local history and quite affable. The actual tour takes between 3-4 hours and the other 2 hours are spent hiking up Diamond Head. Word of warning: Make sure you wear good tennis shoes and light clothing for your hike. If you can, bring a bottle of water with you. I would consider this a moderate to hard hike primarily because of the uneven terrain. However, it is certainly worth the effort when you reach the top. Coming down is a heck of lot easier than going up! We were very impressed with the tour as it gave us a good local flavoring of Waikiki and the Diamond Head areas. We suggest you take it as early as possible during your visit to the Waikiki Beach area.

Very enjoyable experience - We enjoyed all of the stops and notable landmarks around Waikiki. Our tour guide was messing and extremely knowledgeable regarding the rich history surrounding the island. The Diamondhead hike was absolutely beautiful, and can easily be completed within the amount of time allowed. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience filled with perfect Waikiki Kodak moments!

Very good Hike - Our tour guides were very nice and they knew a lot about the history of Hawaii. We didn't care much about the hotels tour but we loved the rest of the tour, also the hike was very fun. Remember to bring a lot of water and a hat. I would recommend it to a friend.
