- 2699 Kalākaua Ave - To start off your lesson, we come pick you up! Our knowledgeable staff will meet you at one of our convenient hotel pick-up locations. You’ll be stoked to ride in our air-conditioned, clean, easy-to-spot, white shuttle with our logo on the side. After our friendly staff introduce themselves, we will shuttle you to our Ohana Surf Center located in the Waikiki Beach Marriott. From there you will get checked-in, geared up, will watch our safety presentation and then will be shuttled to the beach for some surfing!
Once by the ocean, you will meet your instructor and talk about your previous experience, swimming strength or any other concerns or conditions, then we’ll have you walk your high quality lesson boards to the beach. When you’re comfortable and ready, we leash ourselves to the board and into the water we go!
After the lesson, you’ll be taken back to the Ohana Surf Center where you can check out photographs, videos, the work of our cameraman or buy some merch for yourself or friends. Then after your purchases are made, we drive you back to one of our convenient drop off locations.

At Ohana Surf Project, we hold the belief that our clients are just like our family members, and our aim is to render unrivaled services to each person who selects to unite with us on the water. We are zealous about surfing and possess expertise in imparting the mastery of three types of water gliding techniques: surf, stand up paddle, and bodyboard. All our team members have substantial experience in the industry and are highly skilled instructors. We derive immense satisfaction from what we do and love collaborating - both as a team and as Ohana - to make our learners feel secure, at ease, and victorious.
Our utmost priority is SECURITY! All our trainers and guides are experienced professionals who have been trained in safety measures (CPR, lifeguard, first aid), and are very friendly.

- A private lesson can accommodate any age or skill level.
- If any participants have medical conditions or injuries please advise the staff ahead of time
- Please come prepared for the lesson by wearing your bathing suit, bringing a towel, and making sure to apply sunscreen ahead of time
- If you are prone to seasickness, you may want to take a remedy you are accustomed to using about an hour before the lesson (talk to your doctor for recommendations).
- All of our written materials are also available in Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. We will do our best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee, Japanese, Korean, Spanish or Chinese speaking-instructors without enough advance notice.
- Complimentary transportation is available from select locations in Waikiki. Exact pick-up location and time will be emailed to you by the supplier. If you do not receive these details 24 hours prior to your lesson, please contact Ohana Surf Project.
