Highlights
  • Pearl Harbor National Memorial - We begin at historic Pearl Harbor where you will experience firsthand the earth-shattering events that catapulted the U.S. into World War II. Join us at the USS Arizona Memorial, a deeply moving and emotional experience where you will learn about the 1,177 seamen who perished when their battleship was sunk during the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. You’ll witness the attack in a 23-minute documentary and then cross the harbor to the Memorial in a Navy vessel. At the Memorial, pay your respects to the heroes whose names are etched in marble in the Shrine Room. Look into the water and note the oil droplets – “The Black Tears of the Arizona” – that continue to escape the sunken battleship and rise to the harbor surface. Back at Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, there will be time to visit the WWII museum exhibits and the bookshop.

Honolulu area excursion - Rick, our tour guide, always gave us extra explanations and tips (eucalyptus leaves, history, pointed out geographical sighting) and brought us to a very good shrimp farm/restaurant! The pace was pleasant yet timely and efficient. Rick is a very knowledgeable, courteous and pleasant guide. The small size of our group (11) made it even more enjoyable.

Great for first timers in Oahu - Tour Type: Pearl Harbor - Dole Plantation - Polynesian Cultural Center (~$200+/person) I highly recommend this tour! Ricardo "Ric" was our awesome tour guide! He was prompt and timely with the time blocks of the tour. He was also very strategic in making sure we save our time (ex. Taking our orders ahead at Tanaka for lunch) which saved us a lot of time from being in that looong line! He very happily served us our meals at the comfort of our seats. He also took us to a MacNut Farm, a local farmstand, and drove by a few places that are bonuses from the tour itinerary. I think this tour is absolutely worth it especially if you're planning to not rent a car on your vacation. The fees include admission tickets at the Pearl Harbor USS Arizona (does not include the submarine tour) and Polynesian Cultural Center (3-day admission ticket). However, I personally think that 15-20% tip expectation (at least $30-$40/person) is steep after paying for a $200+/person tour. I don't believe that it is fair for the driver/ tour guide to be only paid in tips in that $200+ tour which is my understanding from what was stated on the laminated sign in the tour bus. I can say that many of those who are in our bus just said goodbye without leaving tips. Overall, it was a great experience! The tour offered a nice overview of the most popular and major attractions in Oahu! Great for first timers!

Rick, The Greatest tour guide - Rick was my tour guide/driver. He was AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, AWESOME, EXTREMELY IMFORMATIVE, SUPERLATIVE and any other adjectives I may have missed. I truly enjoyed my day with him. I was hesitant about going alone. I am so glad I decided to go with him. I had read a previous review that specifically used his name. They were so on right. He introduced me to so many delicious foods, snacks, coffee, nuts and other things. There was never a dull moment. He gave the history of so many things prior to our arrival. And as I sat in the theaters, they repeated everything he said verbatimly. I had an enjoyable day with him. He was the best part of my entire 10 day trip. I will look for him again as I intend to visit soon with my grandchildren. I was outside picking leaves. Yes, leaves. I sat alone. But I never felt alone. He certainly made sure I was never left out. Too much shopping - We have a very nice time. Our tour guide was very informative. Pearl Habor was so moving. I would have liked to see some of the Macadamia Nut farm not just a store and Dole Planatation was also just a store.

NIce day but not as described in the VIATOR write up - a bit disappointed - Excursion was nice but the description did not match what we did for the day. We stopped at the Dole Planatation only enough time to run in and shop and make on the bus. Then we had to give a lunch order at a shrimp place when the description read there was a BBQ. I asked the bus driver and he told me that changed since COVID and I told him shouldn't it up updated by now? No response. We had a nice time but were a bit disappointed we didn't get to do all we were thinking and lunch was a disappoinment as well because 2 of the 4 of us traveling do not eat fish.

Nut Case - I never give two stars on a review but I feel like I must. I don’t understand why the tour guide was talking politics. No one asked her. I don’t need her political opinions. She was also a conspiracy theorist. She said that the government has 15 cloud makers and they go into the mountains and make clouds so that the clouds cover the sunset and sun rise. She claimed that the sunset and sun rise have power and the government doesn’t want people to have power so they make the clouds to block people from getting power.
