Personalize your Oahu experience today - This was my first trip to HI and after one day at my hotel in Waikiki I was pretty disappointed. The beach was crazy crowded, really loud, the breakfast included in our hotel reservation was worse than any Hampton Inn breakfast. Then on Day 2 we take our Private Customizable Circle Island Tour and we were really blown away! We were very lucky that Gregory was our guide. He is so very knowledgeable about all of the islands and worked with me on the list of places I wanted to see. We made small changes so the day would make the most sense. He is friendly, smart, patient and flexible. My husband and I have a completely different view of Oahu now. Seeing all the different towns and neighborhoods, understanding the history - so much more than just volcanoes - putting the pieces together that gave us a really clear picture of HI and an incredible impression of Oahu. This was a day very well spent - worth the money and the time. Highly recommend!

A wonderful journey around a beautiful island. - If you are fortunate enough to have June as your driver and guide you will have a wonderful day. Within reason, the day is flexible and yours to discuss and decide. June was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable and her understanding of the geography and history of the island was pitched at an ideal level. We have never been on a 6 / 7 hour trip so consistently surrounded with such beautiful scenery.

A great overview of Oahu. - We were offered the opportunity to stop at all the scenic spots but declined which meant we had a wonderful drive around the whole island seeing many of the amazing sights and hearing all about the island’s history and aspects of Hawaiian life. We very much enjoyed our day and thank AMA for making it such a rewarding and worthwhile experience.

Perfect Oahu Day! - This was a wonderful personal journey seeing the island through June's experiences from Honolulu to the North Shore and back through the central agricultural region. June accommodated all of our requests and suggested food stops and photo opportunities along the way. We ate Portuguese pastries, macadamia nut samples and banana bread, fresh tropical fruit, and Dole Whip! When I asked if I could go swimming, June found a perfect spot to pull over along a sandy beach and waited while I attempted to body surf in the cove. It was a long day, but we arrived back at our ship happy and fulfilled!

Great guide and beautiful island - What an awesome day. Ama was a great guide for the day. Not only did he show us everything we wanted to see but he has a wonderful knowledge of the Hawaiian history but a true love for his island that really showed. He took good care of us and was considerate to what we were interested in thanks for a great day.

Wonderful way to see the island - Ama was marvelous. Safe driver, interesting information, and knew the right places to stop. His lunch idea was spot on. It was a good idea for a private tour since we did not have to deal with a crowded bus.

A Wonderful Day! - Ama was Ama-zing! My mom and I had a wonderful day of sightseeing with him! We visited all of the places we wanted to see, and we didn’t feel rushed at all. His stories are fantastic, and he gave us tons of great recommendations for the rest of our visit. Great communication, too (we knew exactly when and where he’d pick us up). Thank you! 😊

Missed Most of the Stops on Our Tour Due to Guide - This tour was disappointing. Our guide, Ama, began the tour by asking if we were interested in learning about the island's history. We said yes, as I thought it would be interesting to learn about while we drove on our tour. However, what we did not understand at the time is that this meant we would miss most of the stops listed on the tour to visit, instead, what Ama thought we should see. We spent a lot of time sitting in the van on side streets while he told us about the history of the island. We also, for some reason, ended up in the driveway of his home, looking at a van he was going to live in. For two single women, this was disconcerting. We stopped for lunch at the North Shore as described and were told that we had to hurry as we were going to hit traffic. We only got about 15-20 minutes at the Dole Plantation and were rushed to leave. When we asked about the missed stops, he told us that when we said we were interested in history, this meant that we would not see some of them. This was never explained. We got dropped off back at our cruise port a couple of hours early to avoid traffic that we never hit and missed the below stops:

Green World Coffee Farms
Waimea Waterfall
Sandy Beach Park
If you get Ama as your driver, you may want to confirm the stops before you start your journey, if any of them are important for you to see, or he may give you the tour he wants you to see and not what is advertised.
