Kayaking on river on Oahu - Wonderful experience. The silence, the clear river, the rainforest. The best experience in Hawaii so far. And the sweetest hostess, you immediately feel welcome and pampered. The coconut at the end was excellent and a surprise. Thank you!

Amazing experience - Wow, wonderful, tremendous, extraordinary! This kayak adventure down the Kahana river and into the ocean was all those words and more. We were greeted with the true aloha spirit ❤️ This family owned business was truly kind, thoughtful and personable. We rented two single kayaks and make sure you get the phone case because you’ll want to take pictures. We made out kayak trip up the Kahana river which was calm and surrounded by lush green jungle. There’s a swing on a tree by the river if one should want to take a dip and cool off. This was a leisurely paddle which took us about an hour with stops to enjoy the scenery until nature told us to turn around (trees in the river). We then back tracked towards the ocean. You’re surrounded by beautiful mountains and jungle until you reach the ocean. The beauty of the view was extraordinary and my camera could not to it justice. We then made our way back to the dock. The whole experience lasted 3 hours with many stops to bask in Hawaii’s sunshine and beauty. During this whole adventure, we did not come in contact with anyone on the river which made it such an intimate experience. We were greeted by the owners and their adorable dogs 🥰. They gifted us refreshing iced coconut drinks they grown on the property. While we finished the delicious coconut water, we chatted and enjoyed their company. This family has lived on this land for generations and it was wonderful to support a local family owned business. I will be doing this again with any family member that comes to visit me on Oahu because it was that amazing of an experience

Beautiful & interesting nature experience - What a fun excursion! My husband and I were in Honolulu for a conference, and decided to get out of the busy city and experience some nature. We rented a 2 person Kayak for 3 hours, paddled up the river as far as we could go, then turned around and paddled to the bay. It was a cloudy, windy day so we didn't go in the water, but there were a few places with ropes swings along the river. The river was sheltered from the wind, which we appreciated. The was bay was beautiful, and not at all crowded. The waves were a little choppy so we didn't go far in the kayak. We beached it and wandered around on foot- the bay is very shallow and we walked quite aways out. The 3 hour length was just about perfect- we returned a little early since it started raining. The owner was very nice and accomodating- she took photos for us, and had a cold coconut waiting when we returned. We were able to change into dry clothes using the bathroom. Highly recommend!!

Highlight of our trip! - This was a top highlight of our trip to Oahu! Booking was so easy, and right when we got there everything was set up and ready for us to start on our adventure. The host was so welcoming and helpful. The river was incredibly beautiful and easy to kayak on. As described, it's very secluded and away from the crowds. We only passed a couple other kayakers while we were on the river. There's some fun rope swings and places to explore as well. It was kind of windy when we were visiting, but the river was calm and sheltered from the wind. I would HIGHLY recommend booking this experience!

Couples anniversary trip - We enjoyed kayaking from 9:00-12:00. The location was easy to find and there was parking and a nice restroom available. Our double kayak was in good condition. We forgot to ask for life jackets but we saw that some people had them. The river is very short - maybe a mile and a half total. We ventured a little to the ocean but it was pretty windy that day so we stayed close to shore and then took a break at the beach and went for a short walk. We still had time so we did the length of the river again. We enjoyed the morning and would recommend the company.

Hidden Gem! Refreshingly Hawaiian! - In our couple of weeks exploring the nooks and crannies of NE Oahu this was one of our favorites. Kahana bay is gorgeous and overlooked. This is a real generational family effort and it's important to support real Hawaiians working to rehabilitate and care for their ancestral land. The river is easy and tightens to a true jungle paddle the farther up you go. Great sand bars on the way out to the bay, just be careful to respect the heritage fish pond on the right hand side (rock wall, don't trespass, mind the signs). Mahalo Kahana Adventures family!
