Highlights
- Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon - Your Private Group Lessons will consist of your individual group of 2-4 people ages 12 or older.
- We will meet at the end of the parking lot on a small triangular beach. You can choose the best size water shirt and water shoes.
- We will begin by doing a demo near the entrance of the water to help you feel comfortable…

- We will begin by doing a demo near the entrance of the water to help you feel comfortable with safety, paddling, pop ups on the board, and covering any questions you may have.
- This will be followed by an hour of practicing your surfing skills. Our instructors will be helping tow you if you are struggling paddling by yourself. They will also be pushing you on waves and helping you get comfortable with catching the waves.
- Once we paddle back to shore we will get any purchased photos/videos uploaded the same day and send an email by that evening for your lifetime memories!
You are guaranteed to catch a wave even if you ride on your stomach, however most people will catch multiple waves standing during their first beginner lesson.

We will meet at the end of the parking lot on a small triangular beach. This is a free parking lot located outside of Hilton Hawaiian Village lagoon. If you are unable to find parking here there is a paid parking lot to the right just before this lot.

🐶🏄 Best Surfing Experience with Our Dog in Waikiki! - Surfing with Jake was the highlight of our trip to Honolulu! We were traveling with our dog and wanted to find something fun we could all do together — and his “surf with dog” lesson was the best choice.
Even though we reached out last minute, Jake was super responsive and easy to book with. The Waikiki location was convenient and beautiful. He’s an awesome coach — calm, capable, and really knows how to make the whole experience smooth and fun. We had two people and one dog, and Jake handled everything — from setting us up, pulling us into waves, to making sure everyone (including our dog!) was having a great time.
I was a bit afraid of the water at first, but Jake made me feel completely relaxed and confident. He also recorded all the videos for us — and they came out awesome. We love watching them back!
It’s truly one of the best outdoor activities we’ve done with our dog. Even if you’re not bringing a pup, Jake is amazing for regular surf lessons too. Highly recommend! 🌊🐾💙

Manifesting Aloha with the Ryswim Girls! - Jake did it again! The Ryswim Girls came back for another group lesson and their smiles upon returning to shore left no doubt on their experience! The first thing the did say was, "When are we going out again!" After receiving the video footage taken by Jake, the joyful screams and laughter from the girls put an exclamation on the lesson!

Amazing! - Was an absolute blast! Jake was great to work with and very good at teaching! Definitely recommend for anyone looking to try surfing for the first time especially with kids!

Totally Excellent - I have ALWAYS wanted to surf. I've gone boogie boarding and body surfing but never had the nerve. We learned on land how to handle the board and helped get us out to wave break and gave that extra push when it was needed. The location was perfect, including an amazing sunrise. Highly recommend, but be ready to paddle!

Excellent time surfing - We had such an amazing time with Jake that we booked another session. We had no experience surfing prior to this and we were able to actually surf. I highly recommend.

Strongly recommend to anyone! - It was my first time surfing so I honestly didn’t expect to do more than just lie on the board, but it was awesome. Jake is a great instructor and thanks to him I was able to stand up and surf almost right away. The spot itself is also perfect, not crowded and with great waves that are ideal for beginners. I really really recommend this to anyone looking for a surfing experience in Waikiki.

Surfing in Waikiki - Everything about this was amazing! The instructor makes sure you catch a wave and ensures your safety as well. I would definitely do this again.

Best experience - Amazing instructor who made everything easy to understand. I went from knowing nothing about surfing to being able to catch my first wave! Best experience and most fun I’ve had in Hawaii. Definitely recommend!
