Wonderful family experience! - Great day!! We loved this day trip! We had 70 year old fit gramma, and a seven-year-old child and it was a good fit for all. The snorkeling was incredible. The staff was so accommodating all day and as a surprise hilariously, entertaining at the end. My son snorkeled for the first time, which is hard to find in Puerto Vallarta. The private island of Mujar was incredible, what a perfect place to spend an afternoon. PAncho was Amazing. My only caveat is that you really should do this if you want to experience the waterfall. Our part of the group that didn’t just spent two hours on the beach, in Yalapa, which was fine if that’s what you choose, but you just need to know that’s what the options were.

Boat 5 - This tour was amazing! Majahuitas beach stunning! At yelapa you had the option to do the hike or go to the beach. I highly suggest you go to the beach and pay 30 us for a atv ride through the town. The crew on boat 5!!!!! hands down stole the show with there upbeat and halarious rock show. Great memories were made

Father son trip - We had a great time with our crew Roberto, Chi, Chewy, and the rest of the gang. They all were very interactive with us. They made sure everyone was having a good time. They even put on a fun show on the way back. The venders that they set up at Majahuitas and Yelapa we also vey good. They were friendly and had great service. I would highly recommend Vallarta Adventures to any one that likes to swim and have fun. If you don’t mind a slightly steep climb then go into Yelapa with the boat crew. It will definitely be worth it.

Yelapa and Majahuitas your! - Chai and his crew were accommodating, quick on their feet, and best of all, kept everyone entertained through chatting, laughter, and music. The views were amazing, there was no big rush in the guided parts ie snorkeling or the walk tour through Yelapa. Both stops were a great opportunity to experience more of the raw culture and meet people. Would absolutely recommend this tour to everyone, however, going with small children would be challenging as the water you go in is VERY cold & the walk through Yelapa is not necessarily child friendly.

Great trip, well organised and the staff amazing. - Great trip, well organised and the staff amazing. Very entertaining although I think there should be a note on this trip as there is no water at the waterfall at this time of year. Despite this had an amazing trip.

Great staff but seems disorganized. - This trip could be great if a few things were done differently. First off, you have to jump off the boat and swim to shore which means you can’t bring your sunscreen, towels, sandals, camera with you to the beach. Second, the trip included kayaking/paddle boarding but when we arrived no direction was given to where we would find these. The chairs on the beach are absolutely filthy and most definitely have never been cleaned. I wanted to cover it with my towel but had to leave it on the boat. Wear your flip flops or hold them when you swim to the beach because the bathroom is disgusting and you’ll be barefoot. Third, for the snorkeling they sell new mouth pieces for 100 pesos or you can use what they provide but I’m telling you now, BUY THE NEW ONE. they basically dump the mouth pieces in a barrel of soapy water to clean them. I watched a guy clean his flip flops in that same barrel. Food offered on board was great and drinks if you like alcohol. When you arrive at the departure point in Nuevo Vallarta there’s a cafe where you can get food and drinks with free coffee. I would not use them again for a trip

Not worth it - The tour itself is very weak for the price. Everything is half fast not really satisfactory. Better off doing somewhere or something else Would not recommend

Extremely disappointing and not at all what was promised - While Yelapa itself was beautiful, absolutely nothing about the tour experience was what we were expecting. First off, the boat staff was very demanding and relatively rude. I’m sorry, but I didn’t pay $80 a person to get yelled at all day. Secondly, they were under-pouring drinks by a long shot- 3 pina coladas that had absolutely no taste of alcohol and didn’t even begin to make me feel tipsy. It was almost as if there was no alcohol at all. We were promised both breakfast and lunch- breakfast was literally apples, bananas, and a single pastry. Lunch was one of the most mediocre sandwiches I’ve had in my life- the best part of the meal being the bread, and the rest was far less than average, even the pineapple was bad, and practically flavorless pasta salad. The male crew seemed more occupied by the pretty girls than they were concerned by the experience of the other travelers. We also went to Majahuitas before we went to Yelapa, which also was not what were advertised. When snorkeling, we had to swim at LEAST half a mile to shore, and they did not make a point of telling us there were boats to take back- they also didn’t even have ladders to get on. I had a panic attack at one point and had to argue with staff to take me back to the boat to get my medication…after never telling us we weren’t going to have access to our stuff. I got burnt to a crisp. You can’t expect someone like me to snorkel and swim for nearly an hour and not give me a single opportunity to put sunscreen on. We couldn’t bring our towels to the first beach. Then upon arriving to Yelapa, the staff rushed us through lunch to get us out on the boats, and absolutely none of the advertised activities were available besides the kayaks. They forced us to sit in certain spots and we essentially had no option but to buy food at said restaurant (which was overpriced) because we couldn’t stand the food on the boat. The staff at the restaurant was probably the most pleasant part, though, and the beach vendors are also extremely nice. (If you’d like to hold an iguana, it’s free to hold, but 100 pesos to take a picture, that YOU take). We had no freedom to explore the island without going on the guided tour…again, which is not what were advertised and was also the opposite of what the announcer said on the boat (yes I know that the description on here says ‘choose’, but we would’ve just taken the water taxi if we knew we wouldn’t actually get to explore ourselves). My grandma has been coming to Puerto Vallarta EVERY YEAR since 1992, and even she said she’s never had an experience this bad on any sort of tourist activity. It was extremely disappointing and underwhelming and I’m genuinely surprised that there are so many 5 start reviews because this seemed to be the general consensus of the vast majority of passengers. The only reason I’m giving 2 starts instead of 1 is because the island itself was beautiful…and honestly, the best part of this entire 7 1/2 hour excursion was the cat that lived on the restaurant property on Yelapa. Absolutely no opportunity to wash the sand off your feet- it’s part of why my feet are burned so badly, because I had no choice but to wear my flip flops with sand on my feet which is pretty much a recipe for taking off all your sunscreen. Plus, extremely painful. Lots of lack of communication, which often times can be attributed to a language barrier, but Vallarta Adventures is essentially specifically for tourists and so I can’t imagine that that was actually a factor. The entire day felt like a waste. My mom is calling it the boat ride from hell. I’m genuinely hoping we just came on a bad day somehow…I wish I could give a better review but this was genuinely one of the most disappointing things I’ve done in a long time.

Vallarta Adventures are usually good. This one I would really stay away from. - First off, Chai and his team were AMAZING! They were friendly, funny, went out of their way to ensure a good time. Unfortunately, this tour was awful. The first beach would be OK if you actually got to spend some time there. Four out of 10 of us went snorkelling and they must’ve swam through some bacteria or plankton and ended up getting bit/stung all over their bodies. My daughter ended up having a pretty serious reaction and was in agony for almost 30 minutes and ended up with huge welts. It just would’ve been nice if they had mentioned it because after they saw her scratching, one of the employees came over and explained that there is sometimes this bacteria in the water. Our group was all strong swimmers so it wasn’t really an issue to get to the beach but be prepared to have to swim to the beach. They finally came with a smaller boat for some of the kids to get to the beach on, but they would not allow adults, including a man who had a newborn baby strapped to his chest. They wouldn’t let him on the boat so he could not get to the beach and had to sit there for an hour. This entire beach experience was kind of a letdown. The only thing we were allowed to drink was beer or water and there were other tours who got other options . Everything felt really rushed on this beach and no one really got to sit down and enjoy anything. Yelapa. We have been to this town before, maybe 10 years ago on tour. Back then it was fine. This time, it was pretty bad. We understand that we are in Mexico, but this town was filthy, trash and furniture thrown everywhere. The entire town smelt like urine and feces. We’ve been to several towns and it’s never been quite this bad. There was no real market which we were kind of expecting and our kids were disappointed.

Be very careful and fully understand what truly happens on this excursion. - This trip is not described as it is and you need to be very aware that the first stop at the Majahuitas Beach is not as you might think. They describe a stop at this beach. They do not take you to a location where you can get off the boat and walk on to a dock or anything. You MUST SWIM to the beach from the boat. The distance they make you swim is about 100 yards. If you can not swim or do not want to get in the very cold water ( as is was that day) you will have to sit on the boat for over an hour while it is tied up out a ways from the beach. A few family members did swim to the beach but they could not get back due to the horrible rip tides. They finally sent a small boat to pick up those that were stranded on the beach. These were families with smaller children. My daughter and her baby and another mom and her baby were put on a very un sea worthy small boat in the high waves to bring them back to the excursion boat. This boat literally went vertical when a huge wave hit it. How anyone stayed on that boat is a miracle or how no one drowned is a miracle. The other Mom hit her head badly on the boat during it almost capsizing. My daughter and her baby son were lucky to make it back to the boat. We had to conitnue on to the next stop of Yelapa where there were also very high waves. To get to that island you had to step up onto very high concrete steps while the boat was bouncy strongly in the waves. An older women fell trying to do this and hit her head on the small boat as well. This excursion is not for the older or the younger visiters Nor for anyone that is not extremely fit.
