Great experience - Had a fab time on our visit. We were made to feel very welcome, and I loved the informal setting. It was great to meet the team behind the distillery, Lewis, Sean, Darren and Vic (our guide) it was clear to see the passion and love for their products, and having sampled them I can see why! Definitely worth a visit, whether you're a rum fan or not, especially because of the location, set within the grounds of the Welbeck Estate.

Happy birthday treat for our 20 year old son. - We took our 20 year old son to the tour for his birthday as he has developed an obsession with rum. The chap (Darren) who gave the tour is so passionate about his subject and was the perfect tour guide. What he didn't know about the venue, on the Welbeck estate, the history , and the rum making process wasn't worth knowing. I would definitely recommend the tour, it is money well spent, oh , and the rum wasn't bad either!!

Fantastic Afternoon at DropWorks – With a Bonus Hidden Gem Nearby! - We had a brilliant time visiting DropWorks Rum Distillery. The experience was not only fun but genuinely informative. Darren, our guide, was absolutely fantastic – friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. He answered every question we threw at him with honesty and clarity, offering a deep dive into how different types of rum are made and how best to enjoy them. It was refreshing to hear such openness about the distilling process and the ethos behind the business. A truly enjoyable afternoon that we’d highly recommend to anyone curious about craft spirits. To make the day even better, we paired the distillery tour with a visit to Hartley Café, just a 10–15 minute walk away. What a hidden gem! The food was superb, the cakes were next level, and the service was outstanding. It’s the perfect way to round off a DropWorks visit – or start one! All in all, a memorable afternoon of local flavour, passion, and hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

Rum distillery tour - Me and the wife did the group tour on Thu 29th May after our daughters brought me a gift voucher for my 60th birthday. We opted for the last tour of the (started at 5 pm) so we could tie it in with the Welbeck brewery tour after. There was a group of 10, and Darren was our host and tour guide. We started off with a clear drop cocktail while Darren started his very informative and interesting info regarding Drop Works and their rum. After this presentation with some Q&A, we had the tour of the facility while tasting the other 4 rums that they produce. I highly recommend a visit to the Drop Works distillery and to partake in the tour, very interesting and informative and Darren was excellent. I would like to suggest two things though: 1. To have a palette cleanser (water) after each tasting. 2. To have disposable glasses (plastic?) For each rum so that you're not drinking from the same warm glass each time as you're cross contaminating (slightly) each very different rum.

Hubby's birthday prezzie - This was the best distillery tour we've ever done. Darren was a great tour guide. Very welcoming on our arrival. Had a rum cocktail before midday. Best to arrange a taxi or you'll miss out on all the fabulous rums you get to taste. Darren had amazing knowledge about all things Rum. So informative with a bit of fun thrown in. The history of rum is very interesting. We would highly recommend you visit this if rum is your thing or if it's not it will be after a tour of Dropworks.

Go. Go to this now! - Brilliant! Darren was very entertaining and knowledgeable. The rum is delicious and all set in the fabulous Welbeck estate. Signage to the distillery is not great atm but this should be rectified soon (the issue is out of the distillery's hands). Until the signs are up, putting "DropWorks Rum Distillery" straight into google maps works just fine. Alternatively, you can use what 3 words (details on the distillery web site). Toilets on site and there is minimal walking, but much drinking!
