Almaty - Turgen - start trekking up via Kairak waterfall
Kairakskiy Waterfall - We pick you up in Almaty in the morning and start driving in eastern direction. After 1.5 hours we enter the famous Turgen gorge - on the mountain gorges of the Trans-Ili Alatau range (Northern Tien Shan).
Stop at a Batan forestry - this is the end of a road and a trekking part of a tour starts at this point.
Re-pack the rucksacks and start hiking following Turgen River, up to the confluence of Kairak and Turgen - it takes 2.5 hours.
After a lunch we hike up by the good path along Kairak River, via waterfall - 2 hours, until we reach a good camping glade at a height of 2250m above sea level.
Set a tent camp, take dinner and stay overnight in tents.

The tour is designed for those avid trekkers looking for a real adventure, off the beaten trails.
During a trip, you will explore the untouched nature of the Northern Tien Shan Mountains with its snow covered peaks, highland lakes, clean rivers and huge waterfalls.
The trekking route is radial, so it starts and ends in Batan place. The main path crosses holes of Bartugul, Kairak and Temirtas along the upper timberline and comes up to Mountain Institute glacier where Turgen River springs from.
The way back follows down Turgen gorge along main river flow. Great views of main ridge Zailisky Alatau with its glaciers and high peaks appear from the path.
The area is wild: there are almost no trails, signs, cellular connection and lodges. We carry all trekking aтв camping gear, and stay all nights in tents.
IMPORTANT: porter services are not included. It means that all the weight of group gear (tents, food, gas) will be divided between all members and will have to be carried all together.
