- Tulip Experience Amsterdam - Learn everything about the tulips. At the museum, we take you on the tulip’s journey around the world. From its discovery in Kazakhstan around the year 1000 to its current status as an icon of the Netherlands. You will find out all about the tulip and learn in an interactive way about the cycle of bulb cultivation using state-of-the-art machinery and old objects (from before 1950). Follow the story of the tulip through the eyes of the bulb grower!\nAfter the museum, the Experience continues outside and you will step into a beautiful palette of colours. In the show garden, 1 million tulips are planted in 700 different varieties of tulips. All tulip varieties come from our own nursery. The show garden also has a number of special photo points for taking the perfect picture!\nAt the end of the Tulp Experience you can pick your own tulips for free!\nA visit to the Tulip Experience is only available for new bookings made from 22 Feb. 2023!

Discover everything there is to know about tulips. Here at our museum, we will guide you through the globe-trotting journey of the tulip. Understand its origins in Kazakhstan around the year 1000 to its present-day emblematic status in the Netherlands. Engage with the comprehensive knowledge about the tulip and immerse yourself in an interactive learning of the bulb cultivation cycle, utilizing modern equipment and vintage items (pre-1950s).
After the inside exploration, the Experience continues outdoors, exposing you to a visual feast of colours. Witness 1 million tulips of 700 assorted varieties in our display garden. After journeying through the Tulip Experience, your next stop will be the Keukenhof flower gardens.
This spring, anticipate the blooming of more than 7 million bulbs, comprising a total of 800 tulip varieties. It’s a one-of-a-kind, memorable expedition!
Following the flower gardens, you will get to explore the iconic Dutch windmills and discover the craft of clog making. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to sample the finest cheese and purchase these cheese and clogs.
- We provide 24/7 services and to confirm bookings or for questions please contact us during our opening times from Monday - Friday from 08:30 AM till 06:00 PM CET. Saturday and Sunday our office is closed.
- We reccomend to visit the Keukenhof in April because then you will see the most flowers.
