Setting Sail on the Aruban Catamaran

The sun was high in the sky, casting a golden glow over the turquoise waters of Aruba as I made my way to the Aruba Watersports Center. The anticipation of a new adventure was palpable, and I could feel the familiar thrill of the ocean calling to me. As a former professional surfer, the sea has always been my playground, and today, I was about to explore it in a whole new way.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly crew who would be my companions for the day. Gabriel, Tim, and Orlando welcomed us aboard the Arusun, a stunning 65-foot catamaran that had sailed the world. The boat was a beauty, with marine nets at the front for lounging and a shaded area at the back where the bar was set up. After a quick safety briefing, we were off, the sails catching the wind as we glided smoothly over the waves.

Snorkeling the Antilla Shipwreck

Our first stop was the famous Antilla shipwreck, a site that had been on my bucket list for quite some time. As we anchored, the crew handed out snorkel gear and life vests for those who wanted them. I slipped into the water, the cool embrace of the sea a welcome relief from the sun’s heat.
